They should *probably* pay you 😅 but paying you isnt the point. The point is that exercising the muscle of the contracting thing resets your psyche. It's a mental health thing You're *kind of* asking for a favor, but if you're $0 contract on someone's OSS / app / etc... then its a net gain for them

Serious business response I'm obligated to give - back in the day (like, approx a decade ago) the solution to being super "on tilt" was to contract to / with someone who won't need to interview you. That was approximately where I was at when @indirect.io set me up with bundler / rubygems stuff.
