Talfryn Greystone (a short elezen of duskwight descent, with messy auburn hair pulled back in a ponytail and a scar over his right eye) sat in front of some purple flowers

Talfryn Greystone, a male elezen of probable duskwight descent, stands near the aetheryte in Tailfeather. He has sallow greyish skin, dark green eyes, and messy reddish-brown hair pulled back in a small ponytail. There is a prominent scar over his right eye, and another across his left cheek. He wears brown leather with a green traveling cloak slung around his neck and shoulders. His left arm sports a metal harness that on close inspection seems more prosthetic than armour.

// Talfryn's origin is borrowed from Enfances Gauvain (specifically, the part where baby Gawain is thrown in the sea in a barrel, and subsequently raised by a fisherman) because I am a nerd for all things Arthuriana.

// Honourable mention to this family's popoto/cake-based drama

An elezen woman in Ishgardian dress gestures emphatically at two elezen children, saying "Where have you two been? Father's fever has grown worse and we need those poptoes for his stew"

The elezen girl responds "We used the last of the coin on... on... honey cakes..."

The woman responds "If the fever takes your father, those cakes might be the last thing you ever eat!"

The elezen woman continues "I'll have to sell the both of you to the goblins!"

Solosis is a round, green Pokémon surrounded by a darker green, gel-like substance. This liquid covering allows Solosis to live under any conditions, even in the vacuum of space, but when taking heavy blows, its fluid covering may leak away. Its inner body has dark, oval eyes and a red diamond-shaped mouth. On the upper left side of its head is a curly, yellow growth that resembles the endoplasmic reticulum of a cell.

[ #FFXIVRP] On the whole, life in Ishgard had been better than Tal might have hoped but some days were still more Quickweed than Jessamine. Case in point; this morning some aetherial flare or other meant the airships sat idling at the docks rather than winging their way over to the Diadem (+)

Talfryn Greystone (a short elezen of duskwight descent with messy auburn hair pulled back in a bun, scars over his right eye and left cheek, and his left arm supported by a mechanical harness, dressed in brown leathers with a green traveling cloak thrown around his shoulders) looks disappointed at the Leves on offer in Ishgard

// Tal has an enameled pendant with an image of St Daniffen killing the basilisk & another with St Dhyata tending to her fish, worn smooth by years using them as touchstones. They're cheap mass-produced pilgrim souvenirs rather than anything unique or special but he's never without both.

// Supplemental note: this idea that 'dying to a dragon' is socially acceptable in a way other deaths wouldn't be is reflected in quests in Coerthas Western Highlands

A textbox from FFXIV. The speaker Stephannot says: "It ill becomes a knight to prevaricate, but I have added the boy's name to this patrol that was lost to dragons. You must tell Theobalin that his son died gloriously in battle. Let his name not stand in shame - he deserved better"

"Dravania: Certified Nice & Normal" Alternatively: Dravania, it sure as shit ain't Coerthas 😉

An item from FFXIV, text reads as follows:

Dravanian Bream
Seafood - 1/999 (Total:1)
With all the hellish waterborne fiends and bizarre creatures that seem like the product of a fever dream, sometimes it makes a welcome change to meet a nice, normal fish.

Coneflower ❀ in-game version not originally native to Dravania but flourishes there ❀ scientific name means hedgehog/sea urchin (spiky exterior, soft middle) ❀ a type of sunflower, though you wouldn't necessarily think so at first glance ❀ surprisingly versatile ❀ bisexual disk floret 😉

The in-game icon for Coneflower in FFXIV - a purple flower with a large central cluster of smaller petalcones (hence the name)

A real-world echinacea green twister flower. The central cluster is a deep red, while the longer surrounding petals branch off like sunbeams and start pink but turn green towards the edges.

Little!Tal was all about how Saint Daniffen was really super cool and he was totally going to be just like him (albeit with more of a focus on the 'killed a basilisk' than the 'went on pilgrimage' part in his childhood games); this interest is at least partly to blame for his joining the Convictors

Idyllshire. Accept no substitution.

Talfyn (an elezen male of duskwight descent with sallow greyish skin, reddish-brown hair pulled back in a messy ponytail, and green eyes) stands in the aetheryte plaza in Idyllshire, smiling broadly with his arms spread wide in welcome. The settlement is a messy mish-mash of Sharlayan ruins and goblin technology.

Fished out of the Whilom as a baby, Talfryn was raised in Tailfeather & joined the Convictors the second he got his growth spurt. Childhood dreams of becoming the next St Daniffen, however, were soon shattered, forcing him to seek a different path.... ✮ FFXIVRP ✮ Mun: @eorzea-etc.etheirys.social
