Electric bikes are treated the same as petrol ones here in South Africa. Bear in mind that SA is considerably larger than the UK. Distances somewhat longer from A to B, and f-all in between 🙂

Good for Paris. But the cycling culture started way before the 80's in the Netherlands. My grandad cycled everywhere in his day. In Edam, and then Amsterdam. When he emigrated to South Africa in 1935 the sheer distances and the terrain between A & B put paid to that.

Simple. Amsterdam offers itself to biking by people all ages, sizes and fitness levels by virtue of its being all but completely flat. No huffing no puffing no pumping no sweat. Grandma can do 4km out and back in a long skirt and flat shoes. How many cities in the world offer that level of ease?
