Not too long ago, I wrote an article on how I leverage my GPU to run local LLM to boost my productivity. This way is free & safe. I just updated this 💎 to show you how to achieve this using docker and thus avoiding cluttering up your system due to dependencies etc. Enjoy! #coding #dataeng

"The product results are not sponsored for now. The company is likely working towards enabling sponsored placements." I believe this could throw us back to the ages where money and marketing channel dominance decide whether your product succeeds, or not, as opposed to quality. #solopreneur #saas

I've always been a fan of the boy scout rule: "Always check code in cleaner than when you checked it out." Simply try make code a little bit better than when you checked it out. Small efforts aggregate into big wins. Why would smth. simple as this be so hard for some? #devfeed #programming

True story from corporate world. Me walking up to "IT Onsite" department and talking to the first available clerk there: Me: "Hi, I've an older docking station at home which requires software X to be installed on my laptop to work. Any chance you have experience with this and can assist me?"

You would be surprised how much you can do with pen and paper only. I.e. if you use a React based framework, you can identify all main components you are going to need and their relationships.

Clerk: "Oh, no my department does not do software installations related to home office equipment" *silence* *conversation done* No pro-activity or hints on which direction I may proceed in. No hello or goodbye. Hot take: There is far between people that are good at tech. and reading the room.

I'm sorry to say, but as a junior there's simply no substitute for getting the first 100K lines of code under your belt. 5K perfect lines to witness patterns patterns. Rest is repetition to retain knowledge. There is a fair amount of value in repetition. No AI to save you. #devfeed #dev #coding

I see, this morning, the new tariffs kicking in. As some one operating a software company, I wonder if it will cause a ripple effect in revenue growth due to uncertainty. I wonder if AI adoption can outweigh these risks i.e. enabling vertical integration (f.ex.. cheaper on-boarding) #economy #saas

Good point, I would not be surprised at all. Any one who's ever worked with any company budgeting knows that knows that, traditionally, FE cost is among top numbers & easiest to cut. However, quite good number of people have already lost their jobs so that may not be an option for all companies.

Very true, especially if you're not intending to raise any funds. However, if raising is part of your plan, early stage raising (i.e. pre-seed) is all about having a good feeling about working *with* the founder.

It's a bit of a catch 22, using AI, isn't it? To produce somewhat quality software with it, that can scale a tad at least, you'll have to have that experience from before so you know what to be aware of, otherwise you'll get nonsense that will cost you down the road.

My interest has often been drawn to various laws trying to describe parts of reality around us, such as Parkinson’s- & Hofstadter’s law. One states that you're going to fill all time you set with work & the other states your work will always require more time than you think.

Yeah, I do wonder sometimes if C# has been undervalued (for backend development) due to associations to Microsoft. It's really been one of the better documented languages, including core frameworks, that I've worked with. Probably because of being backed by $$$ companies but alas.

It seems like the process on recompiling has gotten a lot closer to being a "commodity" compared to doing this in the 90s, but you can still fudge the situation up easily.

I believe we're seeing data points on that vibe coding might cost more than you think in certain situations 💡💻 For decades, SWE has focused on catching issues early, but vibe coding flips the script, pushing problems downstream, where they become costly to solve. What’s your take? 🚀🔍 #programming

Heh, I get what you are saying and, as some one dealing with fallacies of distributed systems, I salute both the work you put in abstractions as well as contributing with a solid one to show .net folks there is more to the world than CRUD and EntityFramework. 🥂 may you witness success in future.

Put it this way, if you *need* to deal w too many details of infrastructure, unless your main job is to program infrastructure details, then aren't you then risking of spending time on this as opposed to breaking down business domain? 🤔

3. A lot of compensation strategies are infrastructure agnostic and thus can be accounted for in your programming, which should eliminate the need to know too much details of infrastructure layer, most of the time.
