I mean, Carrie is pretty awful in the show. As in, doing lasting physical violence to someone for online bullying, and her wilfull, ludicrous naivety in the face of people being transparently vile isn't laudable at all. She's a dick. So Flanaghan failed on that front.

All I will say is that this is a show that builds up to a set piece that is spectacular, bloody, misguided, fascinating, and, oh yeah, it keeps interrupting to provide play-by-play analysis of like it's a sporting event explained to a toddler. I give it some tampons out of five.

I'm all-in on Carrie. This show is bonkers in a real trainwreck kind of way. I think it says something important about the modern world but not via the show but via the way that modernity sits alongside a story and characters ill-suited to it but are having it forced on them and it drives them mad.
