How are we feeling about using AI for editorial advice? Cos honestly, this shit is scary/impressive and I'm super conflicted. 90% of suggestions are valid. Is it helping me write better, or just better at what it thinks good writing is? Is there a difference? 📚 #BookSky #WritingCommunity #Writers
Output from Claude GenAI:

Line 141:** "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, it was time to return to the shore." — "It was time to return to the shore" is slightly detached from her perspective. She's been the active decision-maker throughout. Consider: "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, she decided to return to the shore." Or: "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, she turned the raft towards the shore."

This one chart tells the future of the world. In all regions (except Africa) working age people will support increasingly more non-working age people from now until the end of the century.
Age-dependency ratio, including UN projections
The age dependency ratio is the sum of the young population (under age 15) and elderly population
(age 65 and over) relative to the working-age population (ages 15 to 64). Data are shown as the number
of dependents per 100 working-age population. Projections to 2100 are based on the UN's medium
population scenario.

I heard about the Lykov family, who lived alone and isolated in Siberia for 50 years, and tracked down a copy of this book written by the journalist who visited them every year after they were found. I’ve really been looking forward to reading this one. #BookSky 📚

The erasure makes it better art. Banksy saying “this is what I think” and the Government saying “we don’t want you saying that” is bang on point.

Just read NEVER EVEN a short paradox tale, written by Craig Russell.
I enjoyed this book and particularly liked the concept of the reader being given a choice of starting at either page 3 or 13 with a flip of a coin.
Well done Craig I look forward to reading your next novel. 👍

What an interesting concept for a book. Start from heads or tails, you choose. To say it was short and sweet does not give this imaginative tale enough credit. Well written and thoroughly enjoyable, can't wait to read the authors next book.

War of the Worlds (2025) is getting a lot of attention at the moment for being an awful film Some stories are so bad they find popularity If you wrote a so-bad-it’s-good story what would you write? What would make a story so terrible that readers could help but talk about it? #WritingCommunity 📚

A cartoon drawing of a crying ogre holding a copy of Ulysses saying “Everyone Call Ogre StupID and it TRuE. Ogre barely even Literate!
Ogre finally finished reading ULYSSES, but Ogre Only Can identify surface level themes like Religion and Nationalism and Can't Comprehend deeper ideas like the "Remorse of Conscience" that make James Joyce's novel a Modernist Classic!
Ogre so dumb, it make Ogre sad!
At this rate, Ogre will never understand Finnegans Wake!”

The UK is actually doing much better than Europe as a whole, which passed peak working age population in 2015 and will have more over-65s than under-25s within the decade Asia and the Americas will pass the same threshold in 2070s, with Africa and Oceana holding out until the next century. 4/4

Imagine being 22 years old, buying your first car, and considering a self driving bed/living room as “standard”
The BBC was invited on a test drive of XPeng's Mona Max, which has just gone on sale in China for around $20,000.

For this price you get self-driving capability, voice activation, lie-flat beds, film and music streaming. Young Chinese graduates, we're told, see all these as standard features for a first car purchase.
