The Loneliness of A Room of One’s Own
Virginia Woolf put forward an enduring vision of women with the space and financial stability to write. But it’s also a sad vision—of isolated writers, cut off from peers or mentors.

How are we feeling about using AI for editorial advice? Cos honestly, this shit is scary/impressive and I'm super conflicted. 90% of suggestions are valid. Is it helping me write better, or just better at what it thinks good writing is? Is there a difference? 📚 #BookSky #WritingCommunity #Writers
Output from Claude GenAI:

Line 141:** "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, it was time to return to the shore." — "It was time to return to the shore" is slightly detached from her perspective. She's been the active decision-maker throughout. Consider: "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, she decided to return to the shore." Or: "When the sun sank behind brewing clouds, she turned the raft towards the shore."

Excessive sitting isn't good for a person's physical or mental health, but there's a type of sedentary activity that may not shrink our brains or cost our cognition to the same extent.

This one chart tells the future of the world. In all regions (except Africa) working age people will support increasingly more non-working age people from now until the end of the century.
Age-dependency ratio, including UN projections
The age dependency ratio is the sum of the young population (under age 15) and elderly population
(age 65 and over) relative to the working-age population (ages 15 to 64). Data are shown as the number
of dependents per 100 working-age population. Projections to 2100 are based on the UN's medium
population scenario.

Baby boomers are an actual demographic cohort. Gen X, millennial, gen z, gen alpha are not. The demographic divides that matter are: - did/didn’t buy a house before 2008 - was/wasn’t in school during the pandemic Everything else is arbitrary pedantry

Figured it out on a dog walk... An earlier (3 chaps back) incident happened without clear purpose, meaning the motivation for this scene wasn't clear. Characters aren't furniture, they can't be moved around without a reason. I'd forgotten that. Now I know what's happening and more importantly why
