I'm sad not to be beside the sea but very happy that today marks paperback publication for LOOKING TO SEA. Lily Le Brun is a wonderfully smart and elegant writer and in this beautiful book she considers ten coastal artworks that the define the long twentieth century in Britain. Out now: read it! 🌊

The latest in the small yet invigorating subgenre of human-object romance, Maggie Su's debut novel is the tale of a down-on-her luck woman, Vi, who finds a pitiable blob of goo with eyes in the alley behind a bar. She gradually molds it into a dreamy human-shaped love interest but finds her own angst harder to contain.
