We really enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious, with beautiful views across the Clyde that are enchanting at any time of day and in any weather. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the three bedrooms are all a good size. This is genuinely one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed in. There's a dedicated parking space, and a bus stop is only a five-minute walk away. We'd absolutely recommend James's place — great value for money.

The bungalow is such a lovely space. It is beautifully decorated with a lovely lived in, but uncluttered feel. The views from the house are stunning.
April 3–10 • 7 nights • ★5
We loved our stay. The house has lots of space. Our particular favourite space was the sun room, we enjoyed the view of the sea usually sitting with a glass of wine in the evening. Whiting Bay is a lovely quiet place and the house is a short walk to the beach. We ate at both the Shurig and simply Thai which are both easily walkable from the house. Lamlash is a short drive away where there are a few more places to eat. The location was peaceful and our children absolutely loved it. Would recommend.
April 11–17 • 6 nights • ★5
Beautiful home from home, comfortable, spotlessly clean, thoughtfully eqipped, spectacular views and binoculars provided! We hope to come back. Thank you, James and Marie.
May 2–8 • 6 nights • ★5
What a wonderful home. Comfortable, a well stocked kitchen, very clean and stunning views. The library full of books and games for all ages was a welcome surprise. We had such a peaceful and fun time here. It felt like a well cared for and loved home and it was very easy to settle in for the week.
Host was really helpful whenever we reached out.

There are some great local food options too if you'd rather avoid the coop. I'd happily live on cheese if I could 🤣 www.arransfoodjourney.com
Arran’s Food Journey is a celebration of all thing’s food and drink from Scotland’s Food Isle. Arran’s food and drink producers have come together to improve the way we work and the experience we offer to our visitors and community

This is the place to start a journey where you can immerse yourself in the growing, making and enjoying of Arran’s food and drink product from farm to fork.

Together we tell Arran’s food story from historical tales of farming, illicit stills and Whisky smugglers to the modern-day production of Arran Ice Cream, Arran Cheese and artisan bakers.

After the learning comes the enjoying so visit Arran to find out for yourself. Its villages offer a wide range of places to enjoy its food from cafés and takeaway’s, cook at home delivery to high end dining. We’ve pubs and bars where you can sample Arran’s beers, Whisky and Gin too. And if you can’t make it here just now, we’ve added a few Arran recipes for you to try at home.

Arran has (rightly 😉) been included in this year's top 20 destinations to visit in 2026. www.thenational.scot/news/2576506...
Isle of Arran
Rank: 16th

Isle of Arran is famed for The Arran Malt whisky distillery, which is one of the potential highlights for visitors who fancy a tour.

Other options which cemented its inclusion on the list included Brodick Castle which is "packed to the gills" with antiques.

The Machrie Moor stone circles should also make for a "mystical field trip".

Meanwhile, Visit Arran shares that guests will "get lost in the character" of the island.

It adds: "As you approach the iconic silhouette of Arran, with Goatfell's jagged lines dominating the sky (if the clouds lift to let you have a preview), you will instantly relax and start to get into the way of 'island life' for your stay here."

Today's contribution to Standing Stone Sunday - two small stones on a promentary to the south of Whiting Bay. Known locally as the Sailors' Graves. Holy Isle in the background. Part of the amazing Arran Coastal Way (which I really must get round to completing). #StandingStoneSunday #Arran
Two upright standing stones in the foreground - the nearest one shows deep channels where water has worn away the red sandstone. Both are heavily covered with lichen. You can see the sea behind the stones and Holy Island in the distance. The sky at the top of the photo is bright blue with a large cloud behind Holy Isle glowing yellow/orange in the afternoon sun. It's a bright but cold day and I was very lightly snowed on while walking down the coast to get here.

A beautiful sunny morning in Whiting Bay on Boxing Day 2026. The sun is shining, the sky is blue.
THe photo shows the outdoor dining table and chairs on our front patio. The patio wood is pale blue. Behind this, you can see trees, the chimney of a house down the hill and the ble sea. Holy Island is just visible to the left of the photo behind the trees

I'll try to add it! I'm a bit less sure which type the attached tree is... I think it's an Arran Service Tree, but had a very varied set of leaves!

A beautiful day in Whiting Bay today 😍 #Arran #IsleofArran #Scotland www.arranlets.com
A photograph of Whiting Bay beach. The sly is blue, the beach is sandy, the sea is calm (though admittedly, it was a slightly chilly paddle). Holy Island can be seen in the background non the left

Happy #FossilFriday! This is a giant millipede (Arthropleura) trail at Laggan on the Isle of Arran. With thanks to my son for highlighting it in the photo! #Arran
A child pointing to the marks left in the rock by a giant millipede on the Isle of Arran. The millipede is out of shot (and very much extinct). I think I'm quite glad not to have seen it as it was clearly huge!

This is one of a few standing stones in Brodick (this is in the grounds of the castle). I always wonder about the significance of this group being on the other side of the island along a valley that leads to the better known Machrie stones. #standingstonesunday #arran #prehistory #scotland

And It's definitely better than when I asked ChatGPT to give it a go 🤣😂🤣😂 Even this human has a very slight edge over our AI overlords (for now, at least)
I've no idea what this rubbish is, but ChatGPT thought it was how a professional graphic designer would advertise the house... 😬
