Okuyama is in a blue tracksuit sitting on a pink couch with his fingers to his chin, deep in thought.
Flanking him to his left is a little devil version of himself in a red tracksuit with shorts, red horns, black bat wings and a pitchfork. The little devil whispers with a deadpan expression, 'Do it.'
Flanking him to his right is a little angelic version of himself in a white robe tied with a red ribbon, white wings, a golden halo and a shepherd's cane. 'Reconsider,' the little angel whispers with a peaceful expression.

Against a purple background, Chiikawa is blissfully dancing in the upper left in a green and orange pumpkin costume complete with a pumpkin stem hat. Usagi, to the lower right, is also in a green and orange pumpkin costume but with no hat. However, Usagi is tipped over in the pumpkin costume away from the viewer on the floor kicking their feet in the air, their fluffy tail in view. Are they stuck? Is this on purpose? Who knows.

Pumpkin party is written in the bottom left corner with a party hat replacing the A.

Ajintober Day 6: Goth Returning to the 2000s US high school AU where Izumi, Tanaka and Kei are in a group project TBH I was going to do them trick or treating but neither of them are really goth. In fact my first comic of them in this AU was about this I now realize... #ajin #draws #comics

Title: Ajin-Tober - Day 6: Gothic

Background: This is part of 2000s era US high school AU in which Tanaka, Izumi and Kei are trapped in a group project together.

Tanaka is dressed in a loose dark gray hoodie. Izumi has on a black hooded jacket over a scoop neck striped shirt with black and studded accessories on her neck and wrists; her nails are painted black.

Panel 1:
Tanaka is pointing at Izumi and declares.
Tanaka: You're a goth!
Izumi is leaning away from him with her arms folded. They've had this conversation before.
Izumi: ...I am not.

Panel 2:
Izumi points at Tanaka and declares.
Izumi: If I'm a goth then that makes you one too!

Panel 3:
Tanaka lays a palm on his chest and corrects Izumi as he proudly proclaims.
Tanaka: I am not a goth. I'm a gamer.
Izumi laughs, amused by this.
Izumi: Ohh my godd! No Way. You're serious? This is because of that one blonde guy isn't it? You're such a POSER!

Panel 4:
Tanaka is offended.
Tanaka: I am NOT a poser.
Izumi defends her words.
Izumi: DUDE. I recommended Ace Attorney to you and you were like - Aren't videogames for kids?
Kei is sitting in the foreground looking up from his book. They're all supposed to be studying.
Kei thinks: I wish these two goths would shut the fuck up.

The trio are extracting ores of chocolate from a giant chocolate bar, half-covered in foil, in the middle of the forest.
To the left, Usagi is munching on an ore of chocolate. On top of the chocolate bar, Hachiware has a mallet in paw taking aim at a chisel nestled in the bar, aiming to extract more chocolate morsels. On the right, Chiikawa with a joyful expression has a yellow wheelbarrow filled with more chocolate ores.

Ended up getting into Drawtobers because I could not resist :( This is Chiikawa Day 2 - Cauldron. I just wanted to draw Chii in a cape over a cauldron of soup. #Chiikawa #draws

Hachiware, Chiikawa and Usagi surround a cauldron full of Zuppa Toscana Soup. Chii is in a cape with their paws up in the air with a diabolical look. Hachiware, in a witch hat and cape, is to the left of Chii, happily stirring the pot of soup. Usagi, also in a cape and a witch hat, is to the right of Chii with their arms crossed patiently waiting for soup. The trio are all standing on step stools since the cauldron is so large. Above them is the theme of the drawing in white text: Cauldron.

A comic about Joe and Rico bickering about nothing. #draws #comics #MidnightCowboy

Joe is standing in front of the bathroom door in Rico's X-flat. The door has a poster of oranges and the word 'Florida' printed in pairs. He slaps the door by his shoulder and proclaims to an audience of Rico, "Here's Ratso!" and again by his head with a good deal of pride, "Aand here's me!" He is a great deal taller than Rico is what he is saying.

Unimpressed, Rico gives back, "So what?" Rico sits on a bed across from Joe with a cigarette nested between his fingers.

Unphased, Joe's arms are now proudly crossed across his chest, "What's what is that've been the tallest in my class since the fifth grade!"

"Ok, and so?"

"So?" Joe doubles down, "So the world looks mighty fine from up here!"

Rico shoves his cigarette in his mouth and goes to stand, "You know what? Let me try something."

Rico grabs a nearby chair and drags it right in front of Joe, close to the wall. He starts to climb the chair. Joe just stares, watching this all happen.

With great effort, Rico stands before Joe on the chair and stares down at him. Joe is a bit dumbstruck by Rico's effort and stares up at him, unaccustomed to seeing him at such an eye level.

"Yeahh," Rico smiles, "I think I see what you mean." It's amusing to look down on Joe this once. Joe mutters under his breath, "Now that's cheatin'."

Rico, reaching the limits of his stamina, begins to wobble. Joe notices this right away.

Rico falls forward and onto Joe who holds him up with ease, one hand around the barrel of his chest and the other grabbing his shoulder. Rico's hands sink into Joe's arms in a panic. "Woah, careful, easy now." Joe smiles, "Wouldn't want to crack your head open."

Rico looks up at Joe's kind face and feels uneasy.

He recoils away from Joe, "Yeah, okay. You can get your mitts offa me. I can get down fine by myself."

Joe is understanding, "Sure, Ratso..."

Later, Rico is seated comfortably on an armchair with a cigarette between his fingers. Joe leans over him from behind with another cigarette pinched between his fingers, "You know you was cheatin' right?" Rico looks annoyed.

I have acrylic standees that I look at everyday and wondered what one of them together would look like if there was one so I drew them all cute and simple like this. It's hard to do though. Every line really matters. Gen is my favorite part here. #ajin #draws

An ensemble of Satou's squad against a blue background. Left to right. Okuyama is standing straight and looking at the viewer in a blue tracksuit; he looks expressionless. Takahashi is smiling in the very back with his hands in his pockets and weating a red hawaiian shirt. Gen is in a pink cardigan at the center crouching slightly with both hands making a V-sign and a joyful expression. Satou is also smiling and lying on his side on the ground with his right leg crossed over the other, resting his head on his arm. Lastly, Tanaka is behind Satou and Gen with a scowl, his arms crossed over his chest and looking straight ahead.

Tanaka is resting his hands on his knees, taking a brief break from a jog, covered in sweat. He's dressed for activity in a red tank top, grey shorts and black leggings. He is also looking at the viewer.

Tanaka is wearing a blue cap with 'UCB' on it and his black leather jacket, sticking his tongue out.

Tanaka has his arms folded over his chest while wearing touristy sunglasses and a khaki-colored floppy-brimmed hat with Chichen Itza on it. He also has on a slim navy-colored bag strapped across his chest. He doesn't look pleased.

Ajin Week 25 - Day 7: Night Baby Satou dressed as a cowboy trick or treating on Halloween night in the 1950s with some kids from the neighborhood. #ajinweek25 #ajin #draws

The scene is set in the 1950s on Halloween night and takes place in a neighborhood street.
Sam, dressed as a cowboy, is crouched over in the street and poking at a dead bird with a stick while his pillowcase of candy is discarded beside him. Behind him, another child, dressed as a yellow clown, is on the sidewalk holding the hand of a much younger child that's dressed like a black cat. The older child yells at Sam: Ewww Sam, leave that dead bird alone!

A picture of baby Satou in the same cowboy costume in the previous image in greater detail. His dress shirt is a vivid red with a tan plaid pattern on the upper half and white trim on the edges of the pattern. His cowboy pants are black and flared at the ends with white trim and a silhouetted image of a cowboy on a rearing horse swinging a rope printed on both legs near the bottom. He has a little holster for a gun and a cowboy hat tied around his chin to stay in place.
Satou is holding a pillowcase full of candy in one hand while pointing a toy gun at the camera with other hand yelling: Bang!

Ajin Week 25 - Day 6: Fav AU A 2000s US High School AU. IDK if this my fav but I like it. In this AU, Satou and Tanaka go to high school together. Satou is more preppy and popular. Tanaka dresses more alternatively & listens to metal. Despite this, they have become friends. #ajinweek25 #ajin #draws

An Alternate universe illustration of Satou and Tanaka in which Satou is the same age as Tanaka and they go to a US high school together in the early 2000s. Satou is more preppy and popular. Tanaka dresses more alternatively and listens to metal - he has a beloved pair of baggy tripp pants but that's not pictured here.

Pictured is Tanaka and Satou in Tanaka's messy room. Satou is staying over Tanaka's house so Tanaka is trying to keep him entertained. He has clothes on the floor and a bunch of CDs & cassettes cluttering the top of his dresser sandwiched with a small media player and a purple lava lamp. Some of his homework has been precariously tossed on top. On a small shelf above his bed he has a wireless phone and an empty can of soda next to it.

Tanaka is sitting on this bed with his fists balled up in his lap expressing embarrassment.
Tanaka: I know it's no PS2 but this is what I have.

Meanwhile Satou is sitting cross-legged on the floor and digging through a cardboard box labeled, 'Kouji's old crap'. He is astonished to find a bunch of retro gaming paraphernalia. He has a NES Zapper gun in his left hand and in his right, a NES Zelda cartridge.
Satou: Holy shit, a golden Zelda cartridge.

Tanaka isn't really being a hero. He just can't help but warn these girls. It's impulsive. He knows what's coming and he doesn't want them to die.

Before this, he seems like just a henchman for Satou. It's true he does whatever Satou says but there's more to him than that. I also like how this isn't really a pleasant encounter. The girls find him creepy and I don't think Tanaka likes being perceived that way either.

Ajin Week 25 - Day 5: Favorite Scene This is a scene I've always loved involving Tanaka in the manga. It marks a turning point in his character. #ajinweek25 #ajin #draws

A redraw of a scene from Volume 4, Chapter 19 of Ajin in which Tanaka, with his hands in his pockets, turns to 3 teenage girls and says: That's not something you should do for fun. He is telling these girls not to check out a building downtown for fun since he knows Satou plans to blow it up. Not knowing Tanaka, the girls are visibly creeped out by him.

The context is that Tanaka was walking past these girls and overheard them. Aware of Satou's plan, he can't help but turn around and impulsively tell the girls not to go. Creeped out by their encounter with this weird guy they decide to go home.

Ajin Week 25 - Day 4: Watermelon Another Tanaka comic warm from the oven #ajinweek25 #ajin #draws #comics

A small silent comic with Tanaka from Ajin that takes place during the canon events of the manga.

From behind and at distance, we see Tanaka in a cap and mask in a grocery store staring down at a stall of watermelon on sale for 1500 yen. One hand is stuffed in his jacket while the other is holding a shopping cart.

In a closeup, we see that each watermelon is carefully cradled in foam wrapping to protect them from damage. Their stems are still attached and they have a beautiful and attractive green color.

It's nostalgic. Pictured is a memory of Tanaka as a child happily eating a slice of watermelon with a stack of comics waiting to be read as a fan keeps him cool in the summer heat.

Back to the present, we see Tanaka reacting to the memory. It's a happy memory but would he ever be able to feel like that again? Maybe having some watermelon might bring back a taste of the feeling.

Ajin Week 25 - Day 2: Heat, morning, fav relationship I forced Okuyama and Tanaka to talk again. It's for their own good. Please get along ❤ #ajinweek25 #ajin #draws #comics

Title: Breakfast

Setup: This 4 page comic takes place during the series and before the Forge arc but after Satou forms the rest of his group. Okuyama is in a tracksuit while Tanaka has his black leather jacket and slicked back hair.

Page 1
Okuyama yawns as he walks through an empty hallway. He nearly passes the doorway to the breakroom when Tanaka spots him.
Tanaka: Okuyama!
He beckons Okuyama to come over with a gesture.
Tanaka: Come sit with me.

Okuyama takes a seat at the fold-out table across from Tanaka. He notices that Tanaka's breakfast consists of leftover fried chicken and alcohol.

Page 2
Tanaka bites into a fried drumstick, tearing off a piece with his teeth and leaving crumbs everywhere. Drunk, he has to concentrate a little as he chews for a moment.
While eating still, he asks Okuyama if he's hungry and pushes the box of leftover chicken in Okuyama's direction.
Okuyama declines, slightly grossed out. Tanaka continues to eat offscreen.

Page 3
Tanaka: You know, I don't understand Gen and Takahashi!
Okuyama watches as Tanaka leans forward with the drumstick in his hand.

Tanaka: The legs are the best part!"
Tanaka waves the half-eaten drumstick at Okuyama who stares at it silently.

Okuyama tilts his head with an expression of curiosity.
Okuyama: Hey
Okuyama: Can I ask a question?"

Tanaka talks into a glass of alcohol.
Tanaka: Yeah, go ahead.

Okuyama points at Tanaka.
Okuyama: Aren't you hot in that thing?

Page 4
Tanaka looks down and places a hand on his jacket where Okuyama is pointing.
Okuyama: It's the middle of summer and you usually have it zipped up. It was 35 celsius yesterday.

Tanaka non-chalantly confirms this.
Tanaka: Oh, yeah.

Tanaka digs his fingers into the collar of his leather jacket and speaks with emphasis.
Tanaka: I'm hot as balls.
Tanaka: The lining of this thing reeks.

Tanaka: Every morning I have to spray it with vinegar.
In the background, a small doodle of a sleepy Tanaka is holding out his leather jacket away from him with one hand whilte spraying the lining with the other, his hair is still not yet made.

Okuyama politely replies: Huh!
However, Okuyama makes an internal assessment: He's like a lonely housewife. This poor guy. Does he have any idea he's being strung along by Mr. Satou? He tries so hard to look tough too.

Meanwhile, Tanaka becomes aware of the awkward silence between them and gets concerned.
Tanaka: Hellooo! Earth to Okuyama!

Okuyama is lost in his own thought process as he realizes something: And yet...
