I'm not calling Nate a fascist or anything, but this is the same liberal mindset that got the world where it is at large. The "its worth reflecting" paragraph is honestly infuriating. The original post lists issues with AI only to conclude "but some people like it *shrug*" while brushing aside [...]

idk when @waterfox.net became pro-AI. Being a soft fork, it wasn't free of Mozilla's slop, but issues INHERENT to "#AI" (diffusion/large language models) were seemingly grasped and considered. One more "#foss" project lost to the world-killing theft machine. :( #anti[...]

I recently learned that Mozilla’s translation engine (that you referenced in your blog post) is not trained on open data, but from crawled copyright content. Does that change your perspective on inclusion within Waterfox?

ALEX I think ‘AI-free’ isn’t my exact stance - “AI” is too broad a term to make blanket statements about. I’m cautious about LLMs specifically, and definitely against including them by default in the context of a web browser. If users want to use external AI services via extensions, their own setup (or re-enabling via toggles in Waterfox), they’re free to do so - user choice is core to Waterfox’s ethos."

I'm almost more thrown off by you liking this reply. I know, its small potatoes and I genuinely am not trying to start a fire, but is this how you've viewed anti-AI people? We value art, the people who make it, and know that sidelining them for an inherently fascistic machine can do no good!
