Even when stitching it became an inspired and was the reason I started patterning and doing pixel art of my own is cause there were barely any YOI patterns avaliable. They still so fun to stitch!

It also inspired me to do better with my own queer stories. I had only been exposed to yaoi like Junjo Romantica at that point…and we know as far as representation those aren’t…great…and YOI showed me there was a different way and I like to think it helped a new gen of queer stories become reality.

It inspired me so much, I drew so much art cause I love YOI and I adore Victuuri to pieces…it made me leave my comfort zone and draw more men, most poses, more couples…it made me love to draw two people who were just completely and utterly in love with one another..soulmates.

Victor and Yuuri relationship and watching it grow organically was magical, I understand why there was never direct absolute confirmation, I have read the interviews, know of the censorship and how hard Kubo and Sayo fought for them…even without it…you just know, they love eachother. Yuuri in particular means everything to me, his depiction of anxiety…his emotions were just so real to me. I could look at Yuuri and understand cause he was like me…and I had never seen that in an anime before. Him coming into his confidence at times but then pulling back…I felt it all..
