A frosted, dark blue graphic with swirling white accents for Permafrost: A Yuri!!! On Ice Zine. It features a snippet from a story:

Once in a spot where they could move, he turned and was surprised to see unmasked happiness and captivation on Victor’s face. It made him even more beautiful than Yuuri had ever seen him and the sudden burst of dizzying confidence it fueled made Yuuri want nothing more than to pull Victor close and make him never want to look at anyone else that way ever again.

Someday, he thought, he’d look back on this night and remember the heat in Victor’s gaze as
they started to dance, the glide of Victor’s hands at his back and waist, the feel of silver hair
through his fingers. Maybe when he looked back, he’d wonder how he had managed to grasp this brilliant perfect moment in time. Tonight, though, all he wanted was to feel. The music and the lights and the nearness of Victor’s body as they moved through song after song, to feel it all.

There is a cold drop on his nose — a quick there-and-gone —, and before Yuuri can even start wondering, small white flakes fill his field of vision, fluttering towards the ground in shapes so thin and delicate they immediately disappear upon contact with another surface.

Right at that moment, the first snow had arrived.

An almost silent but bright laugh cut through the air — heard only because of how empty the streets were —, and turning his head towards it, exactly opposite of him at the other side of the road, Yuuri spotted Viktor's beaming smile as he extended his hand out to catch a few of the snowflakes, Makkachin by his feet as the dog wagged his fluffy tail while staring at his owner.

The man's silvery hair shone in the day's last rays of sunlight, his whole face lit with simple joy upon spotting the small ice crystals falling to earth — cheeks flushed and eyes childishly alight. For the first time since Viktor cut his hair short after his Junior years, Yuuri realized he could see both the light-blue orbs clearly and the sincere emotions in them.

❄️Progress Check❄️ Curious to see what our skaters have been up to? Come take a look at some of their work so far! 👀 #yurionice #fanzine

The opened manila folder’s left half, scattered with sketches and unfinished artworks obscuring each other and four sticky notes of select lines from fics. First: “Stories of wrinkled blankets and crumbled pillows and matching mugs, unspoken promises traded through a linked pinky when walking through cobblestone alleys. Stories about finding love and falling over and over again, morning and night, with every side of Victor he discovers.”. Second: “Yuri’s lip wobbles. Oh, that’s true. Yuri’s entire life can be measured in skating. He can’t think of a time when he wasn’t on the ice, and the moment that he’s off it is the moment that he’ll cease to exist.” Third: “Mariii, I will treat Yuuri so nicely, you know that, right? In fact, I already treat him very—”, “Okay!” Yuuri exclaims, eyes wide as Mari devolves into laughter.” Fourth: “Newton’s Second Boyfriend. The acceleration of a boyfriend is directly proportional to the net force acting on it.”

The right half of the manila folder, with more various unfinished artworks stacked on top of each other, obscured on top by three sticky notes of fic lines. First: “A field trip. Walking with his classmates down the long stretch of the stone wall path and looking up to see the trees brush against the tops of the darkclay caves. Giwa tiles—his teacher had said, pointing up to the curved patterns.” Second: “Yuri doesn’t spot—he can’t, doesn’t even know how—but as he keeps finding him over and over again, it sure feels like it.” Third: “The ice was not so generous. At least Victor’s ice. It never had any reflections to offer. … And the noise, it never stopped. Not even after twenty years.”

The closed backside of the manila folder. A sticky note says “See you next level!” while a smaller one, “YOI 10 year anniversary, 6 October ‘26”

❄️Contributor Spotlight❄️ Give a warm welcome to our next Story Writer, Euna! Here’s what she had to say on why they keep coming back to YOI: "We call everything on the ice 'love,'" — and from the very first episode, the show never loses sight of this. I come back to YOI again and again (1/2)

A frosted, dark blue graphic with swirling white accents for Permafrost: A Yuri!!! On Ice Zine. It features a snippet from a story:

But then came Yuuri Katsuki—a skater from Japan who’d crashed into his path, grabbed him by the collar, and
swiftly tugged the scenery of his life into stunning technicolor. And somewhere along the way, Viktor felt the
need to confront himself. To unlock the rooms he’d long kept closed, throw open the curtains, and act on this
impulse—this sudden, critical need—to change for the better.
“What do you want me to be to you?”
In Hasetsu, he’d tossed the question to Yuuri with a light touch, like a pebble into a stream, curious to see what
ripples would appear on his face. At its core, he wanted to understand how Yuuri envisioned the shape of their
relationship, so he could meet him where he stood.
The question returns to him now, heavier than he remembers.

A frosted, dark blue graphic with swirling white accents for Permafrost: A Yuri!!! On Ice Zine. It features a snippet from a story:

Katsuki Yuuri, a 23-yeald old Japanese ice figure skater with national prestige, had entered last
Grand Prix Finals, only to come out in sixth place with an unusual weak performance. Ever
since this disaster of last year, he had gone silent - Until recently, a new video emerged:
«Katsuki Yuuri tries to skate Viktor's FS Program "Stay close to me"» - and the Internet went
wild.
As the video blew up over night and a few days later the announcement of Nikiforov's decision
was shared, people have started to speculate on the reason behind this impulsive decision.
Some rumors hypothesize, Nikiforov was so inspired by this performance, he immediately
booked a plane ticket to Japan to become Katsuki's Coach: A spur of the moment decision,
befitting of an artist such as him! Other rumors indicated, Nikiforov only became Katsuki's
coach because Katsuki Yuuri won a dance battle against him, but we have found hardly any
evidence for this alleged "dance battle."

❄️Contributor Spotlight❄️ Taking the ice in our Story Writer discipline is @Japansace.bsky.social! Why does she keep coming back to YOI? "The realism/relatability of the characters and the loving portrayal of Yuuri and Victor's relationship." #yurionice #fanzine

A snippet from a story:
The brush in Victor’s hand snapped; the head bristles fell off, forced in two through the sheer force of Victor’s fingers applying pressure to it against the canvas. Victor looked down upon the fragment, almost outside of himself—only for a gull to swoop down at that very moment and pick it up between the clamp of its beak, flying off to presumably add the prize to the interior of its nest. Funny, Victor thought. He did not even consider it was a gull, when he first saw it. He only thought, “kamome,” in that moment, as that was how Yuuri referred to it. Even words—something Victor thought infallible, unyielding—were mere putty in Yuuri’s hands. Below it reads: Japansace, Story Writer, twitter/bsky: japansace.
