The theme for PAWcon this year was pirates. ... So anyways, it turns out that you can just, like, buy a little dinghy from facebook marketplace, slap some paint on it, and put it on the party floor at the con. I now understand what people mean when they say that the intrusive thoughts won, ahah

I never really thought too hard about the portrayal of "nerds" in movies from 15+ years ago. Looking back I remember being offended by it but accepted it as the way things were. Even wealthy and successful "nerds" were frequently portrayed as unable to function in society.

Wire nuts are strange things. They always feel super temporary to me and I'm amazed that in North America not only do we use them in permanent wiring, they're the default code option. Blows my mind really. I've taken to using wagolocks for everything and will never look back.

Last night, one of my cats, a beautiful little 10 month old girl passed on. I found her when I came into work, lying peacefully on my office floor. I thought she was sleeping until I touched her. As far as we can tell, her passing was quick, without warning, and with no pain. I'll miss her so.

Plumbing ordeal! Hearing water blasting against your floorboards is never great. Turned off water tonthe house until its fixed. Since this is my second catastrophic plumbing failure I'm just going to repipe the house rather than deal with more crap in the future.
