The people of the Copperbelt have been living with chronic harmful air pollution for decades. We estimate that the blue dots on this map, which represent a dozen operations between major urban centers, emitted 7.6 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in 2025.

🚚 GHG emissions increased in agriculture, buildings, and waste, while decreasing in fossil fuel operations, manufacturing, and power. The transportation sector saw the greatest change in emissions year over year, with emissions increasing by 2.5% compared to July 2025.
