Nearly every time someone has used AI on their own uneducated initiative to be efficient & save time on an element of a project in which they owe me work, the result has been them waiting until the last minute to do & submit the work & me burning hrs cleaning up the mess they created in that minute.

Discrete issues tend to be binary, but circular, not linear, each on its own axis. For ex: hot & cold both lead to “burn” at the extremes. At the extremes, left & right both lead to intolerance (intolerance in this context being a morally neutral term w/ permutations on a spectrum of bad & good).

I keep running into people who conflate access to information w/ knowledge, experience, & expertise. For example, folks w/ no law schoolin’ use AI to answer legal questions, then claim they’ve “…researched the case law,” & get offended when I point out they have no idea what they’re talking about.

At this point, if a D candidate is neck & neck against an R candidate, I don’t think the issue is that they’re short of cash for their campaign. I think it’s that “I hate to beg, but please give me more money” doesn’t convey they understand the threat of fascism or have a plan to overcome it.

This is easy. If the response is, “How often would this be needed?”, the answer is, “For a blind person, every time.” We can do this if we choose to be an inclusive society rather than a bunch of selfish @$$holes.

Just had my perception reinforced that “efficiency” gained through AI ain’t efficiency. Change error injected randomly by someone (not me) on something that went to print. Inaccurate org affiliation of a speaker at a conference. Folks, if you don’t do the work, you can’t know what work was done…

While grabbing a bev & doing a spot of reading today, I overheard a young mom conclude an interview & offer a similar-aged nanny the job. The entire conversation about the start date involved about three dozen “I mean, like” & not a single clear or direct answer to questions from either side.

I think the dog park equivalent of “I was going to be a Marine” is “I’m training my dog to be a service dog.” Uh-huh. Sure. Not walking around talking on your phone completely ignoring your dog as mine teaches it not to steal her frisbee, you’re not.

In fairness, if we drew a graph of dates on the X-axis & brains in the heads of Presidents trump* & Kennedy on the Y-axis, there is literally no point in history that the graph line for the former would be higher than that of the latter. [*Not a proper noun]

The US Constitution & democratic republic were both revolutionary & evolutionary leaps forward. Yet even the deeply flawed Founders acknowledged it was an experiment, not a solution. The path from “…all men are created equal…” toward “…all people…” has been uphill, slippery, & remains uncertain.

Clearly not worse than fascism, but I’m displeased w/ the constant onslaught by Dems trying to shock me into giving them money w/ “OMG!” txts about issues of which I’m already fully aware because being aware is what inspired me to reach out to ONE DAMNED DEM ORG initially.

Much like love, trust is a gift that must be given freely & belongs to the giver once given. Whether granting or withholding trust, it should be done deliberately & intentionally. Doing either carelessly or by reflex can be detrimental to individuals & relationships (at any scale) in numerous ways.

Who knew that essentially anyone being able to create & distribute “information” at the speed of Send combined w/ absolute free speech & a general lack of individual competence in confirming source credibility would be a society-threatening downside of the tech revolution, eh? Statement of fact, not a judgment: If you’re a salaried employee working 80 h/wk on a full time agreement, you’re not a hard charger who is helping the company succeed, you’re willingly cutting your hrly pay in half, complicit in enabling the company’s disfunction, & setting it up for failure.

I hold a bus. school MS & PhD in org mgt w/ a ldrshp specialization, did a career (‘95-‘15) in military public affairs (basically PR, but ethical ;) ), & am being told by a salesperson who could sell a jar of napalm that costs $2k to a firefighter for $300 that I just don’t understand sales or math.

I’ve been tracking price of reg unleaded weekly at my local pump in Leesburg, VA. On 3/16/26 it was $3.43/gal. Hit a high of $4.65 on 5/25, then ebbed to approx $4+/-. Held steady at $4.06 previous three wks, then up to $4.26 this week. One discrete data set, so not representative, but accurate.

A US Army major & West Point grad reporting to me in AFG once wrote an entire official briefing for our CG about the “Kajaki Damn” & had to be convinced the n didn’t belong. I just heard someone say, “Don’t cut off your nose to bite your face” w/ the same sincerity & intensity as that major in AFG.

He is objectively, based on extensive & readily accessible facts of record, an ignorant narcissistic bigot profoundly lacking in empathy, ethics, morals, intellect, & integrity. Those who support him may not be that, but at the very least they are ok w/ it. It is a distinction without a difference.

Early in my Marine Corps career, when serving under a general I didn’t particularly care for as a human being, a key mentor introduced me to the significance of serving the position or office, not the person who filled it. My sense is trump is incapable of grasping this concept.

We need to change the entire way we think about partisan association. The communication tools we have can break the $$ driven election system & let us choose leaders who have the values, experience, & expertise necessary for their positions, then let them rally to form (or reform) a party.

As I keep saying: 30% approval is not a record low, it is dangerously high. The fascists are entrenched, exposed, & have everything to lose. They will not go quietly. None of this ends soon or easy.

Acknowledging the profound racism of Lovecraft, the theme most often overlooked in critique of Mythos writing, whether light (eg Delta Green; Achtung! Cthulhu) or heavy (Laird Baron; Victor Lavalle), or LC himself, is how terrible humans are at strategic thinking & planning. We are shortsighted.

Marked not safe from having to repeatedly resize & rearrange browser windows that just randomly switch to “full screen stack browser windows to obscure everything user is trying to view side-by-side.”

I’m sure it’s user error due to lack of familiarity w/ iOS updates, but I don’t want to have to learn new settings every time some software engineer team decides things like everyone will love it if their browser window setting defaults to just randomly going full screen for no gawdam reason.

Dr. of leadership here. I’ve used several leadership models to objectively assess trump*. Servant, Transformational, JJ DID TIE BUCKLE(E), transactional LMX, & my own Communication-Based model. The only time he scores high is on dark/narcissistic/toxic models. [*Not a proper noun.]

I was legit unaware of Lithgow’s apparent indifference to the trans community. Left the original share in place as a trusted friend had the grace to provide context for me, but also wanted to add that it’s a shame someone who seems too have an empathetic heart could also have such a huge blind spot.

Charismatic & convincing isn’t the same as rational & logical. A problem not unique to the US political system is that voters often prefer the former & aren’t willing to listen to the latter — so they end up electing those who are good at saying what people want to hear but unqualified for the job.

Over the course of 20+ yrs as a Marine Corps public affairs officer I learned to make sure I have all the facts before drawing conclusions. I have enough facts to be comfortable saying this sounds very much like “Higher HQ” taking a hammer to a junior person to remove a problem & silence others.

I personally approach Christianity (& other religions) as a philosophy. The roots of servant leadership are found in Christianity. The teachings attributed to Christ — whether he was deity, fiction, or madman — generally strike me as sound. It is in the practice of those teachings many fall short.

Privacy & secrecy are synonyms to an extent, yet distinct. Privacy is keeping things secret for legitimate reasons when your priority is transparency. Secrecy is using privacy as an excuse to keep things private when your priority is opacity.

In answer to the headline: No. Some? Maybe. All? No. Not nearly enough. In this context, a 30% approval rating isn’t a record low, it is dangerously high. Potentially even more dangerous than the approx 30% of voters who think not voting in a general election is an effective way to be heard.

I’m using an unorthodox slow-roll no-frills strategy for this project: word of mouth, not word of algorithm. For it to work, even slowly, it needs folks like you to seek out & follow @yl2l.bsky.social, assess the value on your own, then Follow, Like, Share & — most valuable — engage as you prefer.

Trust comes from credibility. Credibility comes from consistency of & alignment between a person’s words & actions. So, yes, a President’s promises SHOULD mean something. Alas, the extensive & readily accessible body of public record indicates this President & his Administration lack credibility.
