RIP US Hostels, this is the primary way youth travel, without concrete overnight plans and loose concepts of itineraries. Myself included back in the day. Even before all this I was once grilled in Canada cause I didn’t know my Aunt’s address (who was picking me up and in eyesight of the agent).

Was thinking along the same lines, even if his team manages to modernize some legitimately in need systems, the fed will likely become beholden to companies he can just spin up to maintain them. (Best case scenario). They have all learned the deepest pockets are gov pockets.

If you were not paying attention, we already reached/passed the timeline of “The Manhattan Project” and “Real Genius” in somewhat parallel real world events. Some would argue War Games happened too, though no AI was involved in accidentally loading the training simulation at NORAD.

For Sci-fi fans of “War Games” and the Terminator franchise, whom have ever wondered how an evolving and not well understood AI might accidentally gain access to critical government systems. Maybe it looks like DOGE? Are we on that timeline yet?
