I want y'all who snail-mail things to know: the USPS recommends no paper clips or staples, and as a secretary, the first thing I do when I'm opening mail is to take all that shit off and throw it away, it actually impedes being able to properly distribute the documents

I've been preparing fresh chanterelles for freezing lately and Fondue has realized that she likes them and has nabbed a couple from the pan. Here's her realizing that I put a lid on the pan (the stove is not on & she doesn't go there when the stove is hot). I gave her one tiny chanterelle later

Fondue the cat standing on an induction stove looking sad; next to her is a pan with a lid & cooked mushrooms in it. The stove is not on

people who still hold fast to HP universe at this point do so BECAUSE it validates their bigotry and privilege they don't *want* to unlearn the awful things they've learned, and they're very much committed to not doing so yes even (especially?) the seemingly-"safe" liberals

A world where a twist ending is repurposed as a video title. where a thing's climax has been removed, leaving an advertisment for the gap where it used to be. such things are commonplace in. the twilight zone

"do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" what they don't tell you is that you can choose not to do that. you don't HAVE to stream if you game. you don't HAVE to make booktok content if you read. you don't HAVE to sell on etsy if you knit. you don't need to hustle your hobbies

You’ve heard of the artist with a thousand WIPs. But have you heard of the artist who finishes everything right away but then takes a year to upload said art? Because that’s me. 🤡✨ Anyway some fanart for the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. One of my favourites of all time💙❄️

People who're familiar with it seem to underestimate how unapproachable the older titles can be. I can't even get my nephew to grasp Contra 3 or Chrono Trigger. I know he'd hate every second on Zebes. All that said, I personally would have fun mapping it out today, and understanding it better.

Yeah, people legitimately do not understand the difference between, 'you did these things because they were all conscious choices' and 'this is what two people thought would work 50 years ago on an underclocked potato hooked up to a CRT'

Zelda 1's obtuse design is 100% because it was, at the time, on the bleeding edge of game design. people were still figuring out things like "maybe we should indicate bombable walls somehow." they were still very much just trying shit. Player-friendly norms had yet to be established.

Gravity's Falls' biggest strength is that it *does* end, and that nothing is held back for a future season. It told the story it wanted to tell and left some mysteries to chew on. Like the twins find out in the final episode, the summer ends.
