Tiny Fire, Day 27: Contractors still debating with claims adjuster (who is being very reasonable). Very little repair work done. Walls will have to be stripped and rebuilt/painted. Sharing a room with my mom. Ice storm went fine though

Waiting game. Insurance guy will be here tomorrow. Smoke (wood smoke?) smell is actually WORSE upstairs than it was the night of the fire. My bedroom was aired out better, but I still can't sleep there until it's checked out. Bathroom still hosting a pile of burnt insulation.

Ah. There's a charred roof support. Wonderful. Insurance Guy can come next week.

Okay, I will preface this with the GIGANTIC disclaimer that I promise I know how this looks, and I *swear* this is not personally motivated: If you have an old #LiveJournal account, and it has things you still care about in it, download it or import it to Dreamwidth SOON. Details:

Christmas prep is stressful, of course, but I was listening to my mom mutter, "I AM NOT HERE FOR THIS. WE ARE NOT DOING THIS TODAY" at some mishap, and it's exactly what I say while getting dogpiled by monsters in Silent Hill 2, and that delights me.

Cleolinda Jones @cleolinda.bsky.social · 22/12/2025

OKAY OKAY OKAY LISTEN THOUGH procrastination is paying off for me because I put off playing Silent Hill f and Cronos: The New Dawn and now they're BOTH getting casual modes (which for me are still "fighting for my life" modes) and also I got Cronos at 45% off.

I'm having one of those days where I want to get everything done but I am getting nothing done. I went out of my way to get SOMETHING done but it's not nearly as much as I wanted. But it's the holidays, family, prep, exhaustion, what're you gonna do.

Okay, I had wanted to hang out on Twitch tonight, but I can't connect for anything, so we're just going to reschedule. Given that people probably have plans this weekend, maybe that's for the best? I'll have last night's VOD up on YouTube once I can. You know. Connect.

I am fluctuating in sickness towards More Sick again, which is unideal for all the talking-recording-streaming activities I was looking at. So I don't know if I'll be trying out Twitch this particular week. Gonna hang loose and see what happens.

I am thinking about potentially testing out Twitch next week and streaming a mystery/puzzle based game (i.e., no combat for me to flail through) that I could do in a night or two. A chat could be helpful for that, and a couple of people on YouTube did ask if I stream.

I have cheerfully made Silent Hill my entire personality this year, but I am trying to make time to play some shorter games that don't have fog (probably) for y'all's sake. I have built up a decent Steam library via deep discounts, so we'll see how that goes.
