Started the day with a quick ride on my son’s GSXR to check out the front brake which has a judder when braking. Likely a warped disc,until we can raise the front to check the runout can’t confirm for sure. Fun ride though, never had a proper sports bike apart from an ancient FJ1200. #motosky

Since Avon shut their UK plant it’s been difficult to get hold of any of their 17 inch tubed rear tyres for the Tenere. So I thought I’d try a Continental trail attack 3. A nice easy fit and should last longer than the previous Avon Roadrider that was worn out in less than 4k miles. #motosky

Autumn is my favourite time of year for offroading, especially after a big storm. Slippery enough to make picking a line that gives max grip interesting and all sorts of hazards hiding beneath the leaves to catch me out.

Always surprised how clean the oil looks when I change the gearbox oil on the little 2 stroke compared to what comes out of a 4 stroke.I guess it’s because it doesn’t come into contact with combustion gases leaking past the rings like on a 4T.

That engine needs to be on show it’s so odd looking but so practical for maintenance. Sometimes miss the massive LT fairing, never ridden anything else so stable at speed and sheltered from wind and rain.

The only annoying downside to these tenere singles is the bloody cushdrive only lasts about 5000 miles then jt has to be packed out with strips of inner tube to remove the slack.
