Perfect. I figured out my van relies on cameras for cruise control. Got plastered by a cloud of grasshoppers, and “driver assist” shut off and told me to clean the cameras. So my manual alternative is not using cruise control. 🙄 Tbh I grabbed a previous year leftover & didn’t check this stuff.

They are funding a study by questionable researchers (a married couple under research ethics investigation) in Africa. Because RFK Jr and the antivaxxers would never experiment on white babies in the US. We should all hear the historic echoes. This should be considered criminal.

Exactly. Everyone needs to be vigilant and listen critically on all channels. I lived through the breaking of news about Chernobyl (not Putin, but same news MO). But some news outlets and pundits are way over their skis right now. No one needs the 2001 anthrax scare with people hoarding drugs.

I discovered this problematic concept after I saw a Baird’s tapir while traveling with a marine biologist friend. She helped me hunt for a tapir carving as a memento of my experience, saying, “But they’re so ugly. “ After that, I found the now-defunct website talking about ”Endangered Ugly Things”.

With you on this one. All the breathless reporting on the one case as an “outbreak”, and yet the terrible Ebola outbreak is killing thousands and spreading. I came back to the US through a tiny border crossing in Saskatchewan and they asked me if I had traveled to Africa recently.

I got back over with Canadian cream, milk, and butter (personal use quantity). However, I’m boring and my declarations were stuff like books and maps. And I came back through a small crossing With professional and relaxed agents. I would not do this on the I5 crossing.

Don’t feel bad. I’m a frequent flyer every 3 years and have to do low fiber diet for 5 days with 2 days of prep. Apparently I’m special. But hey, not having colon cancer (or catching it early) is good.

I had to do the same because they only had fentanyl and I don’t tolerate narcotics. Same experience, and would go without, but they make me drive to Seattle for the procedure under propofol. The docs really don’t want us awake for this.

Ugh. I got a “recall for software update” on my 2021 truck. It took 3 hours. I asked what the problem was and the service person said a bug could prevent it from starting. Whyyyyyy

Jfc just drive, people. Cars are equipment meant to convey you from one place to another, not an outdoor party room. Saying this as I’ve had to drive locally for dog and human medical appts and the state of driving skills in the Puget Sound area is effing abysmal. No wonder our insurance is high.
