Thank you, yeah, it was hard. Not sure old AG Bell was imagining a crying woman watching a crying man bury a housecat in a different country when he envisioned the potential scope of progress, but technology helped some at least.

It was good! Honestly I enjoyed learning how to read a map, and I think knowing how to read a map remains a great backup skill to have. Plus you weren't constantly tracked for data to sell or exploit, (Calvin's dad buying a book speech)

1) perfect. perfectly executed. the structure is impeccable, great transition from the highly recognizable conceit of the 1st half into the equally recognizable 2nd half. the summary applies to both and the phrasing rules. I know about this topic and I love this for content, structure, and language

It has been an insane week in terms of how much work I have to complete on top of travel, and next week is even worse. I'm going to have to plan and pack for Fiji a week in advance (I'm on call this weekend so at least I can't be compelled to drive anywhere?)

Things I have had a character for whom English is not their first language be unfamiliar with: the word "cahoots". The phrase "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men". And even then you're not like WHAT COULD THAT MEAN? It has to be a very specific word for you to not just... figure it out.
