“More craters. It was becoming lunar.” Silly that I didn’t really understand this sentence until just now rereading it. I really like that imagery though. Also how the moon is seen as a really lonely place along side the desert. Beauty in both though #ConArtInSitu

It’s also cool to think about the beauty in both the dry and wet elements of this piece. The poem may describe it as a sort of daunting place in the “bone dry space,” but when you look at the picture it’s quite beautiful #ConArtInSitu

I also like the description of how big of an impact these drops of water make when they’re in such an unexpecting place. How everything has a sort of butterfly effect on everything else around it #ConArtInSitu

What is it about a rainstorm that makes us so sleepy? Walker fell asleep as soon as he got in the car?? Why does that happen? I feel like it’s something about the smell that’s like soothing almost #ConArtInSitu

All this writing about rain in a dry barren place makes me really grateful for the couple rainy days we’re getting in Denver this week #ConArtInSitu

“He dipped his arm into the strangeness of the world - a cool and wet oasis in this bone dry place” Kind of reminds me of the feeling of diving into the unknown, a feeling I think a lot of us are experiencing recently #ConArtInSitu

This place is so cool honestly. I love the aspect of contemporary art where you can make yourself a part of it in so many pieces. Like making this little mini dress in the fashion exhibit. When it becomes interactive I think it’s more interesting #ConArtInSitu

So cool. Learned about the “little black dress” when I studied in Italy! If I remember correctly it was one of the first steps in fashion toward celebrating a feminine figure and less about hiding it and being modest. That class was a while ago so I may be mixing that up #ConArtInSitu

BIG fan of this one… I think something about a nice button detailing in fashion is really cool. Don’t know why it’s so fun for me #ConArtInSitu

This floor reminds me of when I studied abroad in Florence. We went to a costume/fashion museum with my fashion class with lots of similar pieces to these #ConArtInSitu

This one feels very contemporary. The theme of nostalgia has been really apparent in a lot of pieces I’ve looked at at both museums. #ConArtInSitu

Sleepers showed adaption to an ever-changing fast paced environment. Moonlight in Colorado showed a cope with changing in identity, or merging in identity. It's interesting to think about this way because I didn't relate them when I initally saw the two pieces but they work together. #ConArtInSitu

To compare two works I have visited i'll describe "sleepers" and "Moonlight in Colorado." They both had visual and auditorial aspects which refelected a feeling of nostolgia in one, and the beauty in struggle for another. In similar ways, they both showed ideas of adapting to change. #ConArtInSitu

As far as NFTs, I never really understood the whole idea of it and I dont think I ever will. It just doesn't have any importance to me to look into. I don't really feel the need to understand what NFTs are in general because I don't think I'd ever want to own one. #ConArtInSitu

the painting of the banana tied up in ropes with the prison bar symbolism I guess makes more sense to me as an actual art piece... but all I can think about is how silly banana art seems as a concept. It makes sense that it represents bursting at the seems trying to escape something #ConArtInSitu

day 15 writing I honestly don't have much reaction to any of the bananas... I mean I like the velvet underground, so I like the andy warhol banana, but I think the whole idea of the duct taped banana actually selling for money is crazy. #ConArtInSitu

I think it’s cool how in the decor exhibit they make all the seats you are actually allowed to sit it not look like seats, and then all the art pieces that you can’t sit in look like seats #conartinsitu

It kind of reminds me of how in the world we live in today, you can look at one piece of news one minute and the problem listed in it will have completely changed into something else 5 minutes later. It’s like learning how to quickly adapt to these ever changing problems #ConArtInSitu

Adding onto the sleepers commentary, the images constantly changing and evolving into something else so quickly and the timer counting to 1 feel like they connect in some way. I’m thinking in the way that the situations we face today are constantly changing at a crazy pace #ConArtInSitu

There’s struggle depicted in the way the visuals go in and out of blurred view and the heavy breathing in the audio. And then maybe all the beautiful images show how there can be beauty within struggle. #ConArtInSitu

#ConArtInSitu My first analysis is that this has to do with the hike/climb up this mountain to be some physical translation of a phycological battle she is facing. The animals running are kind of like her running to/from something

#ConArtInSitu I find it interesting in Sarah sze’s piece that every time an animal is shown, it is running away, and every time she appears on screen she is sleeping. Every visual is so beautiful.

#ConArtInSitu When it shows the same view spread across all screens, it almost moves as if she’s running from something or being chased.

#ConArtInSitu Flashes of a timer show on one of the screens at some points, counting to one. You can also almost hear a clock ticking in the background…

#ConArtInSitu Andddd here we are! Back to this one. In the audio you can hear very heavy strained breathing. Ominous almost.

Last night, however, I made the impromptu decision to go to a concert. Kind of like the pieces I’ve seen that have an audio aspect to them, I find live music to be the most attractive form of contemporary art. Something about an audio component tickles my brain more than just visual. #ConArtInSitu

5. Have you ever felt challenged by a work of art? 100%. If I don't understand what I'm supposed to feel from analyzing a piece immediately I'm naturally challenged to try and figure that out, just by sitting and examining a little longer until I can feel something to expand on. #ConArtInSitu

Clare @clareclarf.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
4. What are emotions you have felt when looking at art? I've felt any range of emotions depending on what art I'm looking at. It's often associated with nostolgia but I think given the context of this being our last quarter here that is just what I more quickly relate things to. #ConArtInSitu
100
Clare @clareclarf.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
3. why do you think that might be? This is probably just because I may have different personal connections to some pieces that I don't have with others that change the amount of time it takes for me to gain a feeling from a work. #ConArtInSitu

Clare @clareclarf.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
2.How rapidly or slowly do the meanings in a work reveal themselves to you? It happens at different paces for different works. Sometimes I need like 10 minutes with one piece to connect the dots, and sometimes an immediate instinct. More often than not it is a gradual change in understanding.

1. reflecting on a work I have seen I enjoyed the bit of "Fuse Box" that I saw. It was a collection of different screens with visuals and audio played over. The images werefrom a hike up a mountain, perhaps portraying beauty+struggle. I didn't get much time but want to sit with this next visit.
