Another swoon ( 👁️ 👁️ 🩶🩷) moment from our late entry villain couple Galina and Mare (+ embarrassed daughter Gisela) #SumLuv

The princess wobbled forward, stumbling towards Ash. Galina dropped her grip on the long braid of hair to dash over towards her husband. "Mare! Did he hurt you, my darling?" Galina purred as she ghosted a hand along the gash in his shirt, where a scar had newly formed above all the crumbling dried blood.
"Nothing so painful that you can't fix, honey," he grinned back, grabbing her hand and snaking it up his chest and towards his shoulders.
As the young lovers continued to bubble over with laughter, their daughter looked ready to retch. "Can you please do that some

A swoon (and 👀 ✨ 🔥) moment from when Ash first meets Gisela the younger witch #SumLuv

His shoes dragged him a minute's walk into the clearing before he saw her.
They locked eyes, and his limbs were still and his mind was clearer once more. Lying above him in a tree bough was a genuine damsel in distress. Ash let out a sigh. She was humming to herself to distract herself from the danger. Her long limbs clung to the base of the tree, as far as they could get from the withering too crown above her.

A squee moment from Raissa and Ash in the witches’ garden 🌱 💚 #SumLuv

She crouched down next to him and gently swatted at the flies with one hand. "Why would you ever want to be in a place where you feel like no one cares what you have to say?" I could ask that about why you stay in the witch's tower, he thought. "Well, because it seems like that's what it's like in every place that I go. So I'm sure that being a jester in a palace, even your family's palace, would be the same. It's nothing personal," he assured her.
"But..." The princess nudged out her chin. "I don't think that you should have to be making a fool out of yourself all of the time just to have crowds of people pay attention to you." He brushed the dust off the outer leaves of one lettuce head. "Yeah, well, maybe you've
never met the least successful child of fishmongers," he joked.
Raissa didn't laugh. "I would still notice you," she murmured, eyes shining.
Ash froze, suddenly grateful that he wasn't too prone to blushing, otherwise he would
turn as red as the nearby patch of beets.

Ash is an aspiring bard. A huge turning point in getting himself and Princess Raissa to admit their feelings for each other is after he starts serenading her on guitar in the moonlight outside of her stone tower night after night. It’s a sequence I’m really proud of in the final book. #SumLuv

Without spoiling too much, this story reminds me so much of Mare and Lady Galina in my upcoming debut novel “The Golden Stair”….

Moodboard from upcoming self-published debut fantasy novel “The Golden Stair” by Clara Gordon. In the center is a screenshot quote from the text: “Galina gasped in delight, putting a hand over her heart. Oh, I see how it is. I know where you’re going with this Gisela! Very clever, your father would be so proud.” Images include a rumpled cottage bed, a staircase leading to an underground realm, a mysterious hole in the soil, and a wasp perching on a blue rampion Rapunzel flower. Actress Megan Hilty portrays Lady Galina both as a young woman and an older woman. Think Glinda from wicked, but with the same menace as Madeline Ashton from death becomes her. In this twist on the Rapunzel tale, she is Mother Gothel. Mare, her mysterious husband in both eras, is portrayed by Johnny Knoxville.

000

Clara Gordon || The Golden Stair coming soon! @claragordon.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

No one knows Gisela’s bio dad, since mom Galina (Mother Gothel) slept around. I could do a modern AU like Mamma Mia of young Galina. Galina’s villain couple dynamic w/ husband Mare is like “diva actress x bad boy daredevil actor.” My friend said they reminded her of Gomez & Morticia Addams. #SumLuv

In the middle is a screenshot quote from my novel “The Golden Stair”: “Galina gasped in delight, putting a hand over her heart. “Oh, I see how it is. I know where you’re going with this, Gisela! Very clever, your father would be so proud.” The mood board includes photos of a bee landing on a ramp in Rapunzel flower a mysterious dog hole in the ground, a dark underground staircase, and a rumpled cottage bed. The models are supposed to portray Galina (this world’s Mother Gothel) and her husband Mare, both when they met as young people and as older people in the present day timeline of the main story. Young Galina is played by Megan Hilty as Glinda in Wicked, but with a villainous edge. Her older self is played by Megan Hilty as the villain Madeleine Ashton in the musical death becomes her. Mare is basically Johnny Knoxville.

This image is a book cover design for a novel titled "Happy Death Inc." by B. Van Bodegom. The cover is divided into three distinct horizontal sections:

1. Top Section: Features a cartoonish blue sky with white clouds and a bright sun. At the top, a tagline reads:
"How much would you pay to die with a smile?"
The word "HAPPY" appears in large, playful, hand-drawn-style font, partially overlapping the sky background.

2. Middle Section: A photograph of a deceased man in a suit, lying in a casket. He has an exaggerated smile on his face, almost unnaturally wide and clean, suggesting artificial enhancement or post-mortem alteration. Overlaid on this image is the word "DEATH" in the same large font as the previous word.

3. Bottom Section: A cartoon city skyline in pastel tones, similar in style to the top sky background. The word "INC." is overlaid prominently in the same large font. At the very bottom, in smaller capital letters, it says:
