Estimated annual deaths associated with air pollution in London reduced by around 40% between 2019 and 2024.  Real change is possible.
Graphic with a dark green background and the Mayor of London logo at the top. Large white headline text reads “Cleaner air? Life-saving.” Below, a wide colour photo shows a tree-lined park with people walking and running along a paved path. Beneath the image, white text reads “New analysis estimates deaths associated with air pollution in London fell by around 40% between 2019 and 2024.” Smaller text underneath reads “Based on a comparison of estimated mortality burden using updated methods and a scenario-based analysis where only air pollution changes. Expanding ULEZ London-wide was even more important than we previously thought. Action on air pollution has been life-saving.

Mayor @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social's bold action on Ulez hasn't just boosted air quality & reduced pollution - it's saved lives. Expanding Ulez across the capital was the right decision, for public health, our environment & to ensure longer, healthier lives. www.standard.co.uk/news/london/...

Despite voters going to the polls just weeks ago, a number of Green councillors across London have stood down-meaning costly, unnecessary by-elections. Tonight I’ve been with Clapham Park Labour candidate Louie Somerville Sutherland speaking to residents about how committed he is to the area.

We’re thrilled that Agnes Riley Gardens is now a Green Flag Award park, at the first time of asking! This reflects all the work we’ve supported of the Council and the Friends to invest in and improve the park, with more to come! love.lambeth.gov.uk/lambeth-cele...

We've been calling for improvements to the New Park Road area so it's not defined by waste and litter. There's still more to do but these new bin stores outside the shops are already making a difference. ✅ more space for pedestrians ✅ tidier pavements ✅ easier access
Before and After photos of New Park Road showing how new bins have tided up the area and made more space for pedestrians.

The new Blood Donor Centre in the heart of Brixton will be vitally important to helping more Londoners give blood. Right now there is an urgent need for blood donors, particularly those from London’s Black communities.

My statement on the acquittal of the officer tried for the murder of Chris Kaba 👇🏾
Statement with Bell's header: The officer who fatally shot Chris Kaba has been acquitted of murder today. In all of this, we must remember that a young man has lost his life. Today's outcome will be difficult for his loved ones. We must respect their grief at this time.

We must also respect the legal process and the fact that the CPS believed there was sufficient evidence to bring a murder charge. Whilst police officers undeniably have a difficult job and work under exceptional pressures, this trial shows nobody is above the law. When anyone loses their life after contact with the police, it is vital that this is properly investigated. (Continues)Statement with Bell's header: The fatal shooting of Chris Kaba caused considerable fear, anger and pain not only in our community but in communities across London. Trust and confidence in policing has long been a problem in London, particularly within the Black community. We need urgent efforts to rebuild trust between police and communities.

Very concerned by this week's reports that Brixton Post Office is at risk of closure. Coming just months after the permanent closure of Clapham Common Post Office, this dreadful proposal would cut off much of our community from vital postal & financial services.
