While I agree that its weird to be in limbo there is sporting value in delaying it. Having man city confirmed out of the champions league or confirmed relegated might create pervese incentives IE: they try only beat teams who voted to expel them and give up points to the ones who didnt

I’d argue that its only in the wrong currency. He’s a good player but he doesnt do the thing you want someone in his position do well which is score consistently. we won a title with him and we bought him for 6 million pounds. Excellent servant of the club. Unfortunate that he never hit his ceiling.

I think the big piece of his good work last year was the gyokeres decision, which appears to have been driven by him. it seemed the only options were him and sesko and while sesko might end up the better player Gyokeres was available all season and played decently from the start.

Zubimendi is too tired to play 120 minutes. This way you get to bring on the senior pro late to play high tension minutes if you need to. if needed from 90-120 i want zubimendi on. doubly so if he’s 70 minutes fresher than everyone else on the pitch

The other 18 clubs know they're just not that far off the level and they can beat the best teams in the world. The "lesser" teams bring fresher legs and know they can make a go of it against a tired but better team. Week after week. The end of the season is going to be a slog for whoever wins it.

The team despite having a huge squad has been fighting cluster injuries or major players being out every 2 weeks or most teams would be on the outside of champions league places looking in. Instead we’re clear at the top and the players definitely look like the want it even if we don’t look perfect.

I think Wenger covered this years ago: You pay for the education of young players with points. When we were forced to turn to him last year due to injury he played very well and was in great form. But he’s still very young and playing in a position he’s very new to.

I think we know plenty about slot the manager and very little about slot the coach. He basically didnt touch their system and kept the team motivated and clicking last year. Now we’re going to find out if he can problem solve as the game continues to evolve
