Time for a PAX West games thread. I'll add to this as I get time. First up. Ladder Lad! I like 2D platformers that experiment with taking away the jump button or recontextualizes jumping and this has the sauce. Also has a lot of personality. store.steampowered.com/app/3871300/...

when I played gtav (story mode only), i thought it was alright. impressive scale, decent writing in micro (aka good banter, although the overall character arcs were pretty weak), and the core gameplay was functional not a masterpiece in any area except having a big city at your disposal, but fun

Skyward Sword is now complete! Quirky little entry into the Zelda franchise, but I dare you to find a Zelda game with more frantic shaking required. Or Ghirahim. Or Groose.

On this day 15 years ago, we launched our first game, Bastion. To everyone who helped the Kid survive the Calamity, thank you!!🙏 You're the reason we've been able to carry on as an independent studio ever since.

Proper story's supposed to start at the beginning. Ain't so simple with this one.

for those wondering why I chose to play Skyward Sword on the Wii over the switch also yes being a yakuza fan is a curse nowadays. this video didn't even mention yakuza 0 director's cut, which has just fully replaced the original on digital storefronts. can't even get the original y0 in a bundle :(

got some pickups today to help build out my collection of physical games. very happy to finally add these given that none of these games are officially available as-is on PC aside from "updated" versions - persona 4 without poems - yakuza 4 with original actors - persona 5 without therapy

metacritic ranks the legend of zelda skyward sword at number 8, the lowest of all the 3d zelda games. the explanation for this is simple metacritic critics don't know shit about wagglin' i shall not make the same mistake twitch.tv/ck_vyx

I knew my takes were too hot for the number 1 rain code fan 😔

010

Vyx @ckvyx.com · 15/04/2026

there were a few RGG antagonists going through my head for that spot. ultimately settled on LJ because of the drama between that character and Yagami. I feel like it was dark reflection of protag's values at it's best (at least for rgg) ryuji is a close second

010

Vyx @ckvyx.com · 15/04/2026

3/2 if i had less restraint i would put rgg stuff in best soundtrack too

000

Vyx @ckvyx.com · 15/04/2026

Referenced p3p for the combination of male mc and femc, but would recommend FES or P3R for playing through original story I see SRIV dogwalked for not being the same gang stuff as SR2, but i think it's still a really good game, just doing something different KH combat was boring and grindy :( 2/2
