Donate to Help Us Bring Peter Barker Home, organized by CJ Smith

Well, our road trip holiday took an unexpected turn... One morning in Barstow, a stray puppy wandered into our room. Since then, we've gotten his vaccines, got him cleaned up, and unfortunately discovered a very underfunded and understaffed system for animal shelters and aid. gofund.me/4eebe3393

If this doesn't work, I will do everything in my power to place this 8 month old puppy in a no kill shelter or with a loving family! But being able to care for him and see him experience safety and daily life for the first time has been more rewarding than anything.

In a perfect world, we could afford to take him home with us, so we've started a GoFundMe to give Peter Barker a permanent home in the UK.

Shared this bit of history I learned about in Uni with someone doing some research today. It's an important one to know, touching on segregation, white flight, and the history of Detroit: www.nbcnews.com/specials/det...

A segregation wall has stood in Detroit for 80 years. We found out who built it.

Eighty years after a segregation wall rose in Detroit, America remains divided. That's not an accident.

Our first video on the Triad System is out! I'm super happy with it. With collective brainstorming, Terry's art, Ben's voice (in more ways than one), Holly's post-writing and my Video Editing, together we made something that I can be proud of. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7-4...

If you have friends who are from ethnic minority communities in Belfast, check in on them this evening. What is unfolding across parts of Belfast is wrong, stoked up by English nationalists with no interest in this city. As well as some local politicians to cover their own failures.

The Far Right riot in Belfast last night was nothing less than “a race-based pogrom”, Belfast MP and leader of the SDLP Claire Hanna said. The mob hunted down non-whites and set fire to their homes. Carl Whyte, a local councillor, called it “a hard Far Right element”.

Important News for Fallout: Power Play! Sometimes, projects don't go exactly as planned—many factors contribute to a product. For example, sometimes it has to go out a little earlier than you'd hoped, losing time to pour over it until you're completely satisfied.

I chose Rivaini side, and it wasn't too awful. It was pretty much "forget about that - what do YOU want?" Still feeling a little "meh" about it.

000

Maybe, be who you want to be, you don't have to be just Qunari or just Rivaini, you don't have to be just a woman or a woman at all? You don't have to choose one piece of you to show the world? Man, I dunno. I don't hate it but this is the most uncomfortable choice I've had to make so far.

I know to further story you have to make some black or white choices, but I'm pretty uncomfortable with this one. I wish there was a "your mother is just trying to help in her way---understanding that can coexist with not letting her define you or your future."
