It’s literally accessible for those who are deaf or otherwise hard of hearing. And if a streamer already has a system for that, then they should be allowed to add it. Would it be perfect? Probably not. But I think that’s better than literally not being able to have any of the details.

Before you say anything: I KNOW.
A screenshot of a Safari extension called "Tab Counter," listing the number of open tabs across six different browser windows. The first two windows are labeled "Start Page" with 249 and 32 tabs respectively, followed by "Window 3" with 56 tabs, "Window 4" with 402 tabs, "Window 5" with 515 tabs, and "Window 6" with 447 tabs. The final row shows a total of 1,701 tabs.

I hate cancer. So bloody much. We need to get rid of it. All forms of cancer. Wipe it from existence. The only thing that should become extinct is cancer. Not any animal. Not any bug (though I have a list of bugs that should go away). Not any form of life. Cancer.

Now we know why they want to push all that age verification crap on everyone. 🤣 (I'm obviously joking: we know it's much more grim than that.)

(This *really* needs to be a blog post; I'm not fully expressing myself properly and I should continue working on my website. That's not a contradiction, by the way: my website will have AT Protocol connectivity.)

I expect WEBTOON to follow sooner or later, even though it's partially owned by Disney and a couple of other companies.

There were genuine manhwa and web comics I enjoyed in that site and they'll be gone now. Genuinely gave them money, too, for support. I'm so frustrated at this... 🫩

Nobody seems to want to achieve said balance; everyone wants every nickel. I get that, but so long as we don't try to work things out, we will continue to lose the Internet we genuinely love, flaws and all.

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 22/09/2026
Of course, I'll *never* advocate for platforms trying to squeeze every dollar out of creators. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is... there has to be a balance (like I say with literally EVERYTHING).

I have a Mastodon account. It's in toot.community. Unfortunately, they announced they will be shutting down, and the way things are going, it appears to be money problems. You can't run a platform, or your own comic, on "hopes and dreams" forever. For many, that's not enough.

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 22/09/2026
The only problem is monetization: when platforms lose their "grip" on the consumers, monetization becomes nearly impossible to create. Some might be okay with that and say the Internet is just to create for the love of the game. Unfortunately, that doesn't put food on the table.

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 22/09/2026
That means, if one platform dies, there are others in AT Protocol to take its place, and you *don't* lose your followers, likes, etc.: you just... move to the other platform and it's almost like things didn't get too disrupted.

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 22/09/2026
I know people will say "I don't want to be on another platform," and that's fine, but the unfortunate reality is that this is genuinely how the Internet works now. We can't really reverse it. That's why AT Protocol is *so damn important*: decentralized but still "feels" like a platform.

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 22/09/2026
Tapas is apparently shutting down and ugh... I had a feeling that, eventually, these web comic services would slowly die out. The AT Protocol could have taken this opportunity to bring people in, but we're too late: by the time we're ready, others would have locked people in.

I used the orange line in the TTC and… … the trains are no longer “snakes” like the ones at the yellow line. They’re back to the “attachment” style cars. Now I can’t walk from one end of the train to the other. Boooo! 😔

This isn’t the same I guess, but when dealing with my clients for brand design, I generally have to deal with the same thing. The only benefit I have with this is that I have contract terms that can potentially hold them legally responsible depending on the circumstances, but it’s still annoying.

When I say that, I mean that there’s no direct connection between that game and the rest of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, outside of the gameplay itself.

No. That game is completely divorced from the main series. You’ll be fine.

I haven't really tried using them in Google Passwords, but iCloud Passwords seems to never have any issues in my experience.

I haven't truly had an issue with Passkeys, personally. However, the only services I really use are iCloud Passwords (which seem to have excellent support for it), Google Passwords (not regularly, but only for isolated accounts), and Bitwarden (for more business-related stuff).

Still thinking about that time a moth got stuck in a cobweb and the spider failed to successfully wrap the web around said moth. Four. Damn. Times. You had ONE job. (Look at me: I'm angry at a spider. 🤣)

I'm at the point of assuming no one will help, and I've lived with it. At least, that's my two cents about it. Sorry for the long reply; I didn't even get everything I wanted to say. (This should have been a blog post. Probably.)

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
And I get it, because I was one of those beginner developers asking stupid questions. I'm not celebrating any death of any company, however; I have my own path, but I get the anger some of those developers have right now.
110
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
And for those who justify the attacks, you're not going to make those developers stop using those systems any more with that kind of attitude. At worst, they'll ignore you or double down.
110
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
I say this because the amount of people that go "Stack Overflow is DEAD! HA HA!" and the like, many will claim they're uncaring people, but I have a different perspective: they're the ones that got hurt from those attacks and now it's a... trauma reaction. I don't know how to explain it.
110
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
... I literally feel like this era is partially caused by those attacks: now you can't *get* attacked because you have an electronic system that's overly trained to not piss you off (though I suppose that system is "cold" in a different way).
110
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
Part of me believes the era of the "mean Stack Overflow user" was a direct predecessor to this in the developer community. The amount of beginner developers that end up getting discouraged because they made a bunch of dumb questions, only for experienced ones to attack them...
110
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 14/09/2026
Humans have become cold. We're social creatures and are biologically wired to have fundamental parts of our bodies begin to fail when we're like that, but we've mostly trained ourselves to "suck it up" and "no one's going to help you."

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 12/09/2026
I’d like to make it where it barely takes up much RAM, CPU usage, and storage. And I’d like for it to be able to compile in Embedded Swift (it’d be interesting to see a Swift-built PDS running on an IoT device).

Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 12/09/2026
Okay: next week, I’m going to get ATCommonTools rebuilt. I need to separate the code from the “common” and “common-web” packages into more libraries: there’s literally no point in having unnecessary code being compiled with the rest of the package.

Sorry for not working on ATProtoKit and the rest of the family everyday. I strive to always get something completed every single day, but sometimes I fall short and I take too long (and even then, I still end up with bugs, which shouldn't be tolerated since I'm reading and re-reading all my code).
020
Christopher Jr Riley @cjrriley.ca · 10/09/2026
I'll be honest, I haven't done much in terms of working anything for the past few days. I had other projects for one thing, but also, I suppose I didn't really want to see much of the code from my primary projects for a while after dealing with everything.
