doesnt seem to be a subset its not... horrifically difficult in theory, because tails' tail attack has a huge hitbox to work with, but the eggball also has one that seems to randomly change from circle to square oh and if the button in the middle deactivates and you run over it it counts as a jump

honestly all the combinations are pretty great in this game! i love how different the movesets are from pair to pair. like knuckles' glide turning into a headbutt with sonic, for instance. not fun to use in stages, but i like it

yeah, it was unfortunate that sonic adventure was seen as a "rough transition into 3d" when it was just the dx port that had some problems ive even played sonic 3d blast recently and that game was actually fun! so i dont really see the "rough transition" anywhere, personally

i can agree! i also feel like the hatred towards 06 was what spurred a lot of decisions that the fanbase realized they didnt like either. criticism is a necessity, sure, but exaggerated hatred can lead to some undesired consequences

i like this fresh perspective! my only concern when it comes to shadow the hedgehog is whether i have the time to commit to it, though. i wont go with reloaded as needing to play through the game 3 vs 10 times would change my opinion on it, and thats not the point of the marathon either

also save states dont exactly impact my ability to enjoy a game, they just remove the need to start over from the beginning every time something drains my lives i only start using them when it feels as though i need them

sonic spinball is up so high because of the presentation, as well as pinball being morphed into having levels and progression is something i find neat puyo is up so high because its puyo. you cant really go wrong with it also those two are the only games that feature scratch and grounder so bonus

whenever i experience the game it makes me want a remake not for the gameplay to be altered at all, but for the stories to be able to have more time to explore the themes theyre going with i love knuckles' story in theory, but it frustrates me to no end that he doesnt acknowledge the flashbacks much

i think gamma's story was the height of sonic writing at the time. everything about it was so well-done, and it was nice getting a glimpse into how eggman treats his robots! i dont think we had much to go off of at the time for the game canon in that department

i admit i have biases haha the "im mentally ill" category surpasses everything and boils down to "i cannot stop thinking about it" tails adventure was a classic, metroidvania-ish style game starring tails of all characters, and that alone makes me like it its a lil frustrating but i have fun!

its funny, i also got this game as a kid (the only other time i played it, but it was around when blockbuster was still a thing if thats any indication of how long its been) and i stopped shortly after starting it GRANTED i started with team dark (shadow was a fav character back then)

i am terrified of playing through team dark/chaotix's stages. i like the gimmick of dark being the hardest straight-forward team and chaotix being the challenges team, but the idea of long stages with this gameplay intimidates me

honestly i feel as though i wish i began with team sonic, they feel like a good middle ground between shorter levels and decent speed team rose felt so slow! the levels being shorter/easier to attempt at compensating was... fine, but couldve been executed better i think??
