She, along with Florenzia, the 7 foot tall ageing strongwoman, and Alexander "Lexi" Roth/Wonko the Clown, all went to see this exhibit. They all met two people. Dr. Quartz Brunel, the scientist in charge, and Constance Welker, a very strong lady in her own right with prosthetic limbs.

the old women made a potion to turn Marilyn's body into that of a woman, however a stray cat hair drifted in, which is why she's a catgirl. She joined a circus, which went bankrupt when it reached St. Louis. Two other performers joined her in checking out a local science exhibit.

I think most people don't fully appreciate that it's never not been the case that artists thrive most by being paid enough to live irrespective of their artistic output or its marketability, it's that for a few decades some folks deluded themselves into believing the "free market" could suffice.
