💍🕊️💐 --- #fieldsofmistria #juniper #valen #vogelart

An illustration of Juniper and Valen from Fields of Mistria in their wedding attire - Juniper wears a plunging magenta dress with a headdress while Valen sports a gray suit with bowtie. Valen dips Juniper while they hold hands and gaze lovingly into each other's eyes. Pink petals swirl around them.

Caldarus' Theme - The Sleeping Dragon but orchestral (I really had to...it right up my alley) I think this is my favourite cover so far. the original theme has such nice melodies and chords too. #fieldsofmistria

When I'm drawing art with backgrounds, I sort of can't help worldbuilding in my head. Especially if the project has hardly anything to go off of. Every bit of the background is informed by the location's history and ecology...

One of the things he trades with the colonialists is servants, which often come from their other colonies. He believes they'll find a peaceful resolution and is training Marjan to take over from him. And they're too meek to refuse this may as well be a full project at this point 😭

Oh no my whole thread vanished Set in a colonial-era maritime SEA inspired region (not 1:1 with anywhere irl), Marjan's father is a sibling of the late Sultan, who's trying to keep his house alive by making deals with the colonial rulers rather than resisting (which is how the Sultan died)

ok, I don't think I have any more 3D in me, so here is the OC smoothie I made!!

3D model of a lightning gerbil creature. The render has a funky border overlaid on top of it, with hand-lettered MONTANA and wireframe stamps

A 3D render of an elk-like creature and a caracal-like creature. The elk holds an orb of light, while the caracal brandishes a staff. Hand-lettered text on the borders reads "kiz" and "shin"

render of a little guy popping out of a gift box!

render of an android type character (with heavy bloom effects) floating in front of a code editor, the tab(?) titled "px-3"

There is nothing quite as divine as bringing an intricate long-form story to life, and I will keep doing it because it is the closest thing I have found to a self-sufficient reason to live

God I love writing. I love being able to (gestures vaguely) do that I love spending years foreshadowing a pivotal event. I live for those moments when I get to pull the thread that unravels the tapestry. And it's gonna keep happening!

It'll likely be in the 400k range when it's done, which is actually super reasonable. In the same ballpark as The Lord of the Rings.

Technically, there was a brief period of time when Eagles and Swans had 350k words thereabouts, but I'm not counting that because it was mostly NaNoWriMo fluff, of which I trimmed enough to halve its length.

HUGE DAY FOR ME...as of 15 minutes ago, The Spindles of Spacetime has FINALLY dethroned Of the Dragon, of the Stars as my longest written work OTDOTS has held that title since 2013, with 286k words. Unlike OTDOTS, Spindles is still in progress (about 60% done) and will continue to extend its lead.

A table of statistics for two stories, The Spindles of Spacetime and Of the Dragon, of the Stars, sorted by word count. The Spindles of Spacetime has 287,585 words, and Of the Dragon, of the Stars has 286,379 words.
