Ciprian Cucuruz @ciprian.uk · 26/09/2026I love this new system with Power Up/Down and Weekend Happy Hours. Great idea, give a pat on their back to whomever came up with that. One hour of free electricity is meaningful and concrete, unlike X amount of Octopoints. A very good motivation to unplug some things. 010
Ciprian Cucuruz @ciprian.uk · 27/04/2025This is so lazy of them. If you don't want to support them, then open source the code so people can create their own control servers with something like @home-assistant.io Thermostats used to last forever newsletter.openhomefoundation.org/how-the-open... 040

Ciprian Cucuruz @ciprian.uk · 06/12/2024If you look at the past 24h generation mix you'll see the wind started peaking at the same time as the evening demand peak and gas started to ramp down. There was a huge amount of power generated by wind, but also a very high demand. They balanced perfectly. You need an imbalance for plunge prices 150
Ciprian Cucuruz @ciprian.uk · 18/11/2024If you can avoid doing energy intensive stuff like using the oven, the washer or dishwasher and ideally not put the kettle on during 16:00-19:00 every day, then Agile will be significantly cheaper than any other tariff anywhere. For me it is so much cheaper: 11p/kWh compared to 25p average tariff 100
