Shared for #HillfortsWednesday An Iron Age fort described as Cornwall's "best preserved" is under new ownership. Warbstow Bury in Launceston, had been under the control of Cornwall Council, but will now be maintained by Cornwall Heritage Trust.

The image depicts Tregeare - an Iron Age hillfort, near Saint Kew in Cornwall, England. It shows a landscape of fields with small patches of woodland at the bottom left & right corners of the image. In the center of the photo, there are two dark green circles within one another. These are the the ancient earthen ramparts of the hillfort, which have grown over with plants over time. Just emerging from the bottom of the outer ring, there is an additional incomplete rampart, which forms a curved enclosure of sorts.
