Also, Lorelei was right about Rory mixing with her family/upper class society, it WAS a bad influence on Rory. And Logan's dad was right, too, Rory DIDN'T have any resilience. She wanted to be great with no effort. Rory Gilmore would 100% using AI to do her work today.

I answered phones for several summers in high school, I genuinely do not get fussed about the robots on customer service calls, because no one should be forced to be pleasant to someone reaming them out because their cable bill is high. Yeah dude, so is everyone's.

Oh I fully believe it should be compulsory in high school. One year food service, one year retail, you can opt out of one if you choose to work one year in a trade-related business. But two years of customer service, FOR EVERYONE.

PS: If you do want to watch a hockey show in the wake of HR, watch Shoresy, also from Jacob Tierney, which features bro hockey players confronting toxic masculinity, Indigenous characters that are actually powerful, not just symbolically powerful, and a bunch of crazy cool women characters.

I DO Alisha, because when people disappear into seeming thin air, I have no problem rationalizing how truly dense/dangerous wilderness areas can be, even ones close to settlements/roads. But when something SHOWS UP? In our plane of existence? I am much less sure.

Having seen unedited photos from Elizabeth Short's case, I have an absolute conviction that everybody should keep Elizabeth's Short's name out of their mouths. De Palma's film and Ellroy's book are deeply distasteful. Elizabeth Short quite literally has suffered enough. Leave her alone.

I will never forget when I worked for an attorney and one day she turned to me and said, "If it ever comes up, avoid a jury trial at all costs. You have no idea how truly stupid the common American is." She was not in the midst of a jury trial so I have no idea what brought that up in her mind.

Something like this came up at work a while back, college interns couldn't believe we used to drink "trash can punch" out of a literal trash can. There is a lot about younger generations I admire, not least their stronger boundaries, but I am sad they had like, no teen culture of their own.

The example of Obsession, that movie is about consent. If the boundaries are clear, I suspect younger audiences are more comfortable with depictions of sex. That said, storytellers are allowed to be nuanced (see also: Oppenheimer), and audiences should learn to parse that nuance, too.

I can't quote Cargill's og comment, but the conversation about younger generations not wanting sex/nudity in movies is probably, at heart, about consent. Heated Rivalry is hugely popular with younger people, and the sex is explicit AND explicitly consensual. And people are fine with it.
