The high of finishing a novel never gets old. My agent gets to read it first. It used to take me years to write a novel. I’m in awe of authors who publish a book every year or twice a year. Things that helped me write faster: a book contract, an outline approved by my acquiring editor & a deadline.

Day trip to Mare Island! It's not really an island but a peninsula. Blame history for the misnomer. In 1835, General Mariano Vallejo named the place after his prized white mare that miraculously survived a ferry accident. The name endured. #sanfranciscobayarea #weekend
