5. While the 1994 anime was pretty good -- not just "for its time" -- it...suffered from the fact that it was locked into the requirements of 1994/1995 broadcast anime. Specifically, 24-minute episodes no variation, with exactly as many episodes as the network said you got - no more, no less. 6/8

Meanwhile, the setpieces are very faithful to the original (and still retain that bright look of the 90s), and the *quality* of the animations is exactly what you expect for big budget 2026. It should be incredibly dissonant. It should clash horribly. It does not. 4/8

4. Really appreciate that they kept the early 90s art and designs essentially intact. Characters and creatures are straight from the original Clamp manga without drowning in added details, shading, & curlicues they way you expect from big-budget 2026 anime. Very faithful to the original style. 3/8

Obviously, she isn't human. More important is that she isn't written like one. The writers did not simply go "human, but with a fish tail" as too often happens with fantasy races. Nope! Her speech, her attitudes, her emotional responses, her whole character, none of them are human in any way.

Playing through Yggdra Union recently (the Switch remake is real good and you should play it), and we got to talking about this character - Nietzsche. (Who is *nothing* like the human Nietzsche, thankfully). The writers and localization team absolutely 100% hit it out of the park with her.

Got the lining sewn on, all the seams serged, and the zipper installed. Next up is the bips near the hem of the skirt and some other decorations, at which point what the cosolay is should be clear :) (Probably press the hem and install the waistband at the same time because why not?)

Argath aka Algus yells "Animals have no God!!" like a jerk. The original translation of Final Fantasy Tactics is notoriously rough, but I always liked how blunt this line was.
