anyway today it is covid tests. why are they so fucking expensive. it’s so anger inducing that trump cut the funding to get free ones. like. 20+ dollars for max 2 tests is actually insane.

how do you prefer to enjoy a book? 📘📖📕 #FEHeroes // #alfonse #sharena

Illustrations of Alfonse and Sharena from Fire Emblem Heroes.

Alfonse's illustration features in a dark room with a large window framing him from behind. Light pours over him, backlighting him in the darkness.

Sharena's illustration features her resting on a red couch, with tea and cookies on a table behind her. She is sleeping in the sunlight.

Both siblings are holding books.

the key to a good fandom experience is finding 3 people you can say anything to and then never give a flying fuck about anyone else’s opinion

sometimes i get so frustrated bc i feel like my anxiety is stopping me from being the person i want to be. and like, it’s worse that ‘technically’ it’s all under my control, but i spent the first two decades of my life people-pleasing and it’s so hard to unlearn.

i'm a big believer in that everyone should have at least one old person hobby. gardening/sewing/knitting/bowling/grilling/birdwatching/etc. something that grounds you irl. sometimes it really is That Damn Screen ruining everything

Young people SHOULD “have it easier” than you did. I’m sorry you got the strap up hill both ways and paid your debts with pounds of flesh, but the reason we work for progress is to make growing up and growing old gentler, easier, kinder, freer. Struggle isn’t necessary in a healthy society.

I like thinking about people's OCs as their own personal deities. Like. This is my guy that I made up, when I'm anxious I look to them for courage, or when I'm bored they provide entertainment, and in exchange for their blessings I create a million portraits of their likeness

i’m feeling insane lolol — like their was symbolism and the trauma was depicted so accurately and the dialogue done so well. and yet.

010

soren @cinderandspark.bsky.social · 23/04/2025

just bc one character is crying doesn’t make them right or ‘more hurt’ 😭😭 relationships r complicated and ppl have different responses to different traumatic things. it’s crazy to be a reader inside both characters’ heads and still have ppl being like ‘x should have a chasing arc’

110

soren @cinderandspark.bsky.social · 23/04/2025

every time i read a well-written complex argument in a webcomic/novel and scroll down to the comments looking for analysis, i’m always met by the most black-and-white ‘x character should grovel’ type bullshit ever. i should just. stop
