Saw them live in Cincinnati with Spoon four years ago and they were one of the most boring live acts I've ever seen. No acknowledgement of where they were or between song interaction. Spoon talked about playing Sudsy Malone's years ago.

Used to be career defining if not career ending. As you mention, now it's like oh, he needs TJ, see you in a couple of years. Don't get me going on the old guy rant about how pitchers used to throw 300 plus innings in a season with 20 plus complete games.

I did radio news for three decades and did hundreds of interviews and for it to be a good interview, you've got to know who you're talking too and their background. Lazy and unprofessional otherwise.
