It's so easy to get caught up in numbers, success, and skill. Yet so hard to remember that changing even one life with your art is magic. Keep making art. You will keep changing lives.

Four years ago I woke up at 5 am from distant explosions. I asked my boyfriend if he heard them too, he said he didn’t and I should go back to sleep. I tried to calm myself down, went on the internet, it was silent, no news or explanations.

Art advice you can use right now: Draw slower Observe more Observe again Don’t give up after the first sketch Use references Ask for feedback Work simple, then add details Iterate on ideas Try a new process Make frequent comparisons to refs Draw what you love Draw with others

Draw what you love. That's the only way people with similar interests will find you.

anyway, reptiles on a fake sketchbook

snakes, lizards, crocs, and turtle pencil sketches on a fake sketchbook. honestly, i think my tweets arent very interesting for people with impaired vision, but im doing my best. but you know what else has impaired vision and needs people to help them? web crawlers that gather text-image pairs and put them into datasets to train image generators. ALT text is one common way of getting these text-image pairs because usually, people accurately describe the image in ALT text in the interest of helping their fellow man, which ALSO makes it useful for training image generators. i could nightshade the image to help prevent that, but since i havent done that, the next best thing i can do is put as noise into the alt text as possible to confuse the robots.

Perfectionism convinces us we must be more than we are to be good enough to create. But you are good enough to: - Ask questions - Study where you need improvement - Try again if you make a mistake - Ask for help These are the actions that lead to growth.

Creatives are problem solvers. Creatives iterate on their mistakes. Creatives constantly build new things. Creatives carve a new path where one doesn't exist. Use your creativity to get what you want out of your life.

This app is wild, dudes. It’s basically OC town, I’m actually getting to see all my friend’s art on my feed. People I’ve never met before are seeing my doodles. I’m not being bombarded with misery all the time. I love it.

Did you know: if you order books directly from a small independent press, you will become more attractive, your skin more supple, your hair (should you have any) shinier, and you will earn sly, knowing admiration from those around you. Also, you'll probably get free bookmarks.

I've been teaching art for years. What holds you back isn't your inability to learn theory. It's a lack of: - Clarity of your goal & WHY you want it - Belief in yourself - A simplified roadmap - More action, less overthinking - More objective analysis of your mistakes
