Far below on tainted soil Humans began their silent toil Then, through the air so still and silent Began a chorus, clear and defiant Singing of our Patriot's Dream Our Stars and Stripes forever gleam They knocked us down, but not for long United we are, still standing strong 🛑

Petty bickering fell to silence Awestruck at incredible violence Birds of song stopped their play As the world fell silent on that day Those remaining, with mournful eyes Turned fearful towards abandoned skies No winged creatures dared to fly While doors slammed shut against evil nigh. 🧵

The Day the Skies Fell Silent Birds of steel became their birds of prey On that clear and bright September Day Roaring loudly to their target they lighted Stunned and bloodied, our nation blighted Concrete, steel and flesh they tore The burning sacrifice, their holy war 🧵

I know exactly were I was that Tuesday morning. In my apartment getting ready for work, watching the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower on live TV. In the following days what struck me was how silent the skies were, with everything grounded. This is what I wrote 25 years ago #September11 #neverforget 🧵

He said he would cancel the cards and issue new ones. Cool, cool. Then he asked for all the numbers after the 6th digit. I questioned that. He insisted I had to give him the last 10 digits. I said I’m hanging up and calling my bank. 🧵

BE FOREWARNED: Got a call that appeared to come from my credit union. Dude asked if I had any purchases in the last hour $1,000 from Amazon. And $350.45 from eBay. I said no. 🧵

This is Bug. He ate breakfast at 6 am. This picture was taken at 7 am. He stared at the place mat for a good 30 minutes waiting for second breakfast to magically appear. How do I break it to him that he is not a hobbit and is not entitled to second breakfast and must now wait until dinner?

We’ve added to our flock! Meet Lily, she is a 15 year old blue crowned conure. She has some disabilities, her toes are not in the normal configuration for a parrot. But she seems to get around okay. Sunny our DYHA is not so sure about having to share his humans again.
