Surely if I keep forcing myself at gunpoint I’ll eventually be proud of something I create again right

Depression will really just eat away at everything you thought you relearned to enjoy until there’s nothing Just sifting through dust, hoping to feel a familiar pulse. But there’s just less and less dust left each time Everyone says I’ll snap out of it so I guess I’ll keep sifting until it’s gone

The best thing about traditional art is that you have infinite opportunities to wholly fuck it up and disappoint yourself

Thanks so much for taking the time, means a lot!! Your point about getting the art off the mind is v true but art blocks w/o anyone to connect with suck so bad… that’s what I get for being a drifter+avoidant. Folks like you who manage to not always gaf and just keep creating really inspire me 🖤

Yeah I shouldn’t be doing it for the likes but hey, when that’s the only validation on or offline I get, my brain chemistry just doesn’t care

Wish organic growth was real cause I have to go out hunting for any morsel of attention. No one ever ‘stumbles upon me’ and it makes everything I do on the internet feel transactional in a way

Frustrating to set up, but the control is unparalleled 🙂‍↕️

Gotcha. It seems like the issue with self-hosting (not under any group like HW) is that outreach & advertising entirely falls into your hands + you can’t rely on people organically coming across your work thru feeds & such. I personally am setting up a Neocities site but only as a fun side thing
