I know this is being done with good intentions so I say it with all love: Dudes, when women are expressing fear and disappointment over a predator who was by all outward appearances safe and kind, that’s not the time to, how should I put this, humble-boast about how *you’re* one of the safe ones. ⬇️

I feel like I have so much I want to say but it’s just this incoherent ramble. But do you know how much it weighs on me to be the one woman on staff at GameSpot? To be one of VERY few women in the industry? To be one of ever fewer moms? To walk into press events and be the *sole* woman?

I had a weekend where I set up RetroDeck to function as a PS2 docked to my TV with a bunch of old favs and it was novel but idk. I've been playing on my 3DS again lately and I find it so much easier to pop into older games if it's on a smaller device rather than a giant handheld

I've been in the same position but am stuck in a bargaining stage of "sell your steam deck and you can get one"

people dunk on collectors editions but I spent like $90 on Marvel's Avengers at launch to play it a few days early. I think if anyone acts like they wouldn't buy something stupid like this for a game they're excited for they are lying

Metroid: Samus Returns - cool that structurally Samus is actually a bounty hunter in this one. Playing after Dread, it’s neat to see the small character flourishes Mercury Steam started giving her sneak in here. Def feels more subtle than Dread and what we’ve seen of Ravenous but still neat!

Especially if Marathon is going to evolve, it's not like they have all the staff they need to make a ground up Destiny 3 any time soon. Rebuilding stuff that exists? Bringing the OG to PC? These feel possible but are also projects I could have believed were possible a month ago.

If the Destiny team is still a skeleton crew, restoring pre-existing D2 content kinda feels like a way to buy time while they figure out an actual plan. Hoping this works out but I still don't really believe D3 is on the table as of right now. Future titles could mean D1 remastered, spinoffs, etc.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne - brother is using pain pills like I was using save states. Loses a bit of the atmosphere the original was dripping in but I definitely had a better time playing through 2. Being about half the length of the first was probably the right call.

Star Wars Zero Company - game is able to achieve something really special in mixing together this genre, this specific period of the Star Wars universe, and its companion characters. There’s a moment that shifted my perspective on some of the cast that left me really impressed. Loved it.

I have been sitting on a Baldur's Gate 3 project for over a year at this point that's existed as a personal exercise, a video essay, something I would never release, a tiktok, another video, and then a blog I was going to release the week a million blogs were launched wonder what it will be next

Small thing that I greatly appreciate about Zero Company is making Hawks and Trick former colleagues of Pong Krell. Fucking hilarious use of the clone wars

I love 3D Mario but I don't think adding a new 3D Mario to this list is transformative in a substantial way idk. Def would help but it's not like that is the one thing that makes this list great, it's already extremely robust
