Because like, when has Arthur Andersen’s negligence as an auditor done massive harm to the US economy? I mean there was the one time, but since then? I wonder what they’ll change the name to this time.

I hesitate to speak it into existence, but I would love to know what additional contingencies are being discussed/deployed for us-east-1 in the aftermath of this incident.

Some words of wisdom I try to keep in mind: “Maintainers fix things until they work, rather than until they work well, and want to use, not understand, the systems they are provided. Systems designers should anticipate this and try to compensate by technical means.” dl.acm.org/doi/epdf/10....

You can’t see it here because of the rounding, but it’s actually 87.7099999 repeating.

What if we could skip the second part and start a cycle of small groups of seniors and promising juniors splitting off to found new small & midsize tech companies?

Any chance you could replace one box with an automatic so there’s always one clean? One thing that worked for us (senior triggered by a kitten who started spraying) was lining the areas with a triple layer of pee pad, hard plastic office mat, pee pad. I think they just hated walking on it tbh.

Screenshot of a Bluesky timeline.

One post reads “I don't know if the decision to do a lunar flyby at a much greater distance than Apollo was scientifically better, but it was exceptionally good for producing fabulous and novel photos.”

Immediately above it is a photo of a crescent earth rising over a high fidelity Swiss cheese moon.

Are these shipping products or internal tools? Should this imply a general upward trend for product quality and completeness? When do you think that will actually be noticeable in the market? As an enterprise consumer how can I find and purchase all of this software that has closed all known bugs?

A hedgehog wearing a blue suit, white shirt, and black bowtie sits at a table with a newspaper and teacup in front of a sunlit window. The phrase “there should be more snails” in white text above its head.

At first glance the newspaper appears to be held upside down - possibly implying the fancy attire is all a pretense, and raising some doubts about the whole snail business.

On closer inspection, however, the text of the newspaper actually rotates around the page from section to section leaving us unable to deduce anything about the hedgehog’s literacy, but we can conclude that the latest Gemini doesn’t know how newspapers work.

When you can do a 5-minute task in 5 minutes instead of fifteen 1-minute sessions over a week, you also get to skip several days of self loathing. Which is great for the ol’ mental health.

Hey friends! I did a TEDx talk and it's now up on the TED Conferences YouTube. It's possibly the best and most important talk I've ever done. I would ask that you watch it, and please SHARE it broadly and widely. Thank you! youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg #AI #Tech #TED

Let’s make a multi-site, multi-master database with DNS-based service discovery and multi-protocol replication decades before it’s cool. What? How do you access it? LDAP or COM, of course.
