While it shouldn’t be nearly as significant as yesterday’s flooding was, we should still see some road closures around downtown Charleston as water levels peak between 7.3-7.5’ MLLW around the 10am high tide. Be ready to reroute if you encounter a flooded road!

Watching showers and thunderstorms to the north as they sink southward. There’s an outside shot that these could survive into the Tri-County overnight, albeit in a weakening state.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 16/09/2026
Some refreshing-looking dewpoints in store tomorrow morning as drier air pushes in from the northeast. Dewpoints in the 60s will be a nice change from the summer mugginess, that’s for sure.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 14/09/2026
Temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s are common as we head toward lunchtime. The record high of 94° is very much in jeopardy today, and we’re not talking Trebek.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 11/09/2026
The heavier thunderstorms across the Charleston metro have weakened considerably after moving into sinking air in the wake of the seabreeze. However, if you’re headed west out of Charleston toward Jacksonboro, there’s a flash flood warning there. Be ready for slowdowns heading west on 17.

Showers and thunderstorms are really starting to congeal in the 17-A corridor with heavy rain and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Watch out from Jacksonboro to Summerville to Moncks Corner in particular, with more isolated downpours around Hanahan and Awendaw.

Showers and thunderstorms moving northeastward through the metro around 10 MPH with brief heavy downpours and a little lightning. Nothing severe but you’ll want to take it easy as visibility may be diminished in heavy rain.

Heads up, commuters: Moderate salt water flooding is expected in Charleston Harbor with this evening’s high tide around 6:40 PM. Water levels could get high enough to cut off the 61 off-ramp from downtown toward West Ashley. Be ready to use alternate routes!
040
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 08/09/2026
On & off showers near the coast will continue through midday before the focus for any isolated to scattered activity starts to propagate inland on the seabreeze. Most should stay rain-free today, though.

Watching showers and thunderstorms in the Pee Dee and Midlands as these will head southward, perhaps moving in or igniting additional storms later this evening into tonight across the Tri-County.
030
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 06/09/2026
It’s been hot and sunny thus far, but we are watching storms to the north and west once again today. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch borders the Tri-County to the northwest; a few strong storms with heavy rain will be possible later today into tonight.
041

010
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 06/09/2026
Showers and thunderstorms continue to push southward, generally from Dorchester County and points west as an outflow boundary continues to push southward. A lot of lightning with the storm near Summerville, but nothing reaching severe criteria.
010
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 02/09/2026
The only notable item on radar is a stray shower in Moncks Corner moving down 17-A toward Cane Bay and Sangaree. A brief downpour is possible but lightning appears unlikely.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 30/08/2026
Showers and thunderstorms are firing along the seabreeze this afternoon, stretching from Edisto through Cainhoy into far NE Berkeley. These are slow-movers and may dump a quick half-inch of rain
030
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 30/08/2026
So far it’s generally been quiet this morning, but storms in the Atlantic may make a run to the coast later today along with other popup storms. Heavy rain is the main concern.
052
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 29/08/2026
We’re largely getting a break from a very soggy start for some, but more rain should develop and move northeast across the area later today. Keep rain gear close and stay alert for possible pockets of flooding this afternoon.
062
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 28/08/2026
Level 2 out of 4 risk for flash flooding today with storms that should get going by this afternoon. Slow-moving, training storms are the main concern today, with 1-3” of rain a decent bet in some spots. Stay alert for possible Flood Advisories or Flash Flood Warnings.
030
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 26/08/2026
Some of us got woken up overnight with some heavy thunderstorms, and it looks like we are starting to see more develop already this morning. Could be a soggy day for some, and we’ll need to monitor for a flooding risk.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 25/08/2026
The seabreeze is trekking inland across Lake Moultrie, kicking off a storm right over Bonneau with heavy rain and some lightning. Elsewhere, things are mostly quiet as storms near Edisto fizzle.
020
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 24/08/2026
Showers and thunderstorms are firing along the seabreeze, which right now is near the coast and will come inland with time. Heavy downpours down Maybank Highway as well as over downtown Charleston should be short-lived.

Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
Temperatures are generally running in the upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon. Starting to see the seabreeze take some form near the coast, with a shower having already popped. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are still expected later today.
051
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
We’ll have some drier air mixing in today which should tamp down a little on the flooding rain risk, but could increase the risk for damaging wind gusts in any storms that can form later today. Keep an eye out for possible changing conditions especially after 3pm.
040
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
The Flash Flood Warning will end soon, but an Areal Flood Warning continues across Hanahan, North Charleston, and southern Goose Creek until 3am as standing water continues to drain. No additional rain is expected overnight.

020
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
Flood advisories now extend to Folly Beach, James Island, Johns Island, Seabrook, and Edisto (among others) as very heavy thunderstorms push into the area. A quick couple inches of rain will be possible here, with minor flooding in some spots a decent bet.
020
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is up for Colleton and western Charleston counties until 9PM. Storm’s moving ESE at 25 MPH and could impact Adams Run and Hollywood with gusts to 60 MPH.
021
Charleston Weather @chswx.com · 23/08/2026
Storms are quickly rebuilding to the west as the outflow boundary sinks southward and seems to stall out. Flash flood threat is not over yet as rain may try to work back into the metro here soon. Stay alert for additional road closures.
