Warmer-than-normal temperatures will continue for the rest of the work week, with rain chances starting to tick up as we get toward Friday and the weekend.

After a beautiful weekend, the pattern begins to shift back toward warmer and more humid conditions once more, bringing about the return of shower and thunderstorm chances later this week into the weekend.

After a bit of a dreary and chilly day featuring a high struggling to 70° — the coolest day since we only topped out at 63° on May 2 — the sun returns to the forecast beginning Friday and lasting into next week.

Breezy and cool conditions continue Thursday as low pressure deepens offshore. A shower or two will be possible, but coastal flooding is the main concern, especially in the evening. Clouds scour out for the weekend, and it'll be gorgeous.

The first legitimate shot of cooler air of the season begins to build in on Wednesday as high pressure starts to wedge into the area from the north. It'll bring with it some breezy conditions and an elevated risk of coastal flooding that will last into at least Friday.

Low pressure aloft turns Tuesday a bit more unsettled, but a southward-moving cold front sets a noticeably more seasonable tone beginning Wednesday and heading into the weekend.

The week ahead gets off to a hot, humid, and unsettled start, but by the end of the week, temperatures will be more befitting of — if not a few clicks below — what we'd expect from late September.

An upper low stalling out over Florida combined with an approaching (then stalling) front will help turn things a little more unsettled this weekend.
