one of the few times I used an LLM is for fantasy baseball, and it had NO idea what it was doing. Which frankly kinda shocked me because you'd think it'd like.. google stuff. or look at baseball reference. No, it just pulls things out of thin air

I'm a Canada lover, I'm literally wearing a Habs hat rn, but... The last time I was there, I noticed that while they say 'sorry' a lot, it's usually when they're being rude. They say sorry so you don't get annoyed. Like people cut in line or block your way, they say 'sorry' but keep doing it

the biggest cope with sports fans is when they do the whole "oh yeah, well the whole team was injured so the win doesn't matter / is cheaper / doesn't count etc." Depth is part of constructing a roster. Injury proneness is predictable enough that you have to construct the roster around it

re: WoW Forever I'm kinda disappointed that on stage at BlizzCon, they adamently said "we will not be adding resilience as a stat" Not because I think resilience is some super cool stat or something. But their needs to be stats in the game that are pvp-specific if it's going to be 'horizontal'

It's more than 'left leaning people online' don't listen to it. It straight up might as well not exist. I can only speak for where I live, but in Western WA, most have likely never heard this song. I have never heard it once, nor seen any merch. This song doesn't exist in my experience of the world

sometimes when I ride the train, I see people with foldable phones and they always look so beat up. You see a bunch of built up dirt and dead skin at the crease. They have screen protectors that are broken and frayed at the ends. Distracting ridges in the screen. They just don't seem to age well

I think one reason a lot of people in this day and age really dislike children is because... being around babies makes you realize how similar you still are to babies.. for example, we all whine and pout when we're constipated, as babies do too. we also get grumpy when hungry or tired etc

There's a shocking lack of fantasy set in an early feudal milieu, even though these were the true "dark ages". A lot of fantasy that presents itself to be in such a time usually are loaded with like, Renaissance-era late feudalism. Fantasy in an older age tend to have more of a Roman era milieu

the single biggest cultural shift of the past 20 years is, it used to be shameful to be a hater, poser or sell out. And now all of those things are not only common, they're seen as good, or the default way of being. I don't think young ppl nowadays can fathom how much being a hater was stigmatized

I haven't finished House of Chains yet, but so far, it's my favorite of the first four Malzan... we'll see where I land though. Right now, I'd say: 1. House of Chains 2. Deadhouse Gates 3. Memories of Ice 4. Gardens of the Moon GotM is flawed, but in a lot of ways, it's the most 'interesting' book
