Fallout 76 is still one of the most beautiful video game environments.

...what do you mean it's a documentary?! Noooo, that's silly. If that was true why is the director doing these things?!

Just eating lumps of cheese like a mentally well person. Somehow putting them on a plate has made it worse? Like if I was just chompin' off the block it would have a cheeky "fuck your cheese rules!" air to it. Lumps on a plate? I dunno.

Three lumps of overly orange looking cheese on a plate.

Looking at the official TikTok account, they seem to be doing okay outside of "the 2017 playbook"

I spent a while trying to do something clever but honestly this made me chuckle the most. Sorry.

011

chris slight @chrisslight.com · 23/05/2026

I tried to be clever but in the end I was just chuckling away to myself at this.

Ahhh Forza Horizon, never change.

This came off the back of both Dark Horse by Harrison and Rock'n'Roll which were, in my opinion, roouugghhh.

I'm exactly the sort of bloke who will hear a Paul McCartney song where he's doing his 1930's thing and feel very happy about it! This week's Beatles Solo listen along was a goodun, Venus and Mars by Wings. Even without my "if it's McCartney it tends to get a +1" buff it was still a great time.

Oh shit, I somehow missed the @lostincult.co.uk Design Works for Citizen Sleeper is back to order again! Grabbed! I played that game for the first time last year, and it entered the "best games I've ever played" list very quickly.

I did grow up believing everyone in America lived in houses the size of the home alone, because all the 80s / early 90s films that were on regular free TV looked like this. Steve Martin is just an office working guy, but somehow lives in a palace.

I got a Switch 2 for Pokopia and this game is ticking so many boxes for me! I remember the Pokémon anime making it to ITV in the UK and I, of course, loved it. Managed to save up and get Pokémon Red and was like "wait...where's Ash? Wheres Jesse and James?! Do I...only make them fight?"

Washing going on the line? Finally sunny enough for the landlords lawn to be able to mow it? Well, it must finally be time to listen to this again!

Working on the next Strange Scaffold Newsletter (which you can subscribe to over on strangescaffold.com) reminded me that in the last one (written by the amazing @christapaolucci.com) I wrote segment that it made sense for me to make this image.

Finally getting to play some Next Fest demos (recommendations very welcome) and currently enjoying Outbound. Tiny "Jalopy is one of my favourite games" quibbles aside (I'd love to do things like turn the campers headlights off) it's pretty nice! "Roadberries" sure sounds like a euphemism, mind.

PVP is optional (I think both parties have to shoot at each other) but there are rewards. You'll become wanted and the whole map can see you. I remember it being fun but I've not encountered it. It feels like a community that really wants you to stick around play the game they love.

chris slight @chrisslight.com · 15/02/2026

I got a power armour frame, stimpacks, a nifty hat and a friendly wave from them as I left. This is incredibly common in my experience. People see I'm a low level character (now 31 seeing an average of 500) and wave, then drop a little bag of gifts on the floor.

chris slight @chrisslight.com · 15/02/2026

Fallout 76, a game with systems designed to encourage self reliance and PVP, is an incredibly sharing and peaceful community. I started a new character, my 2020 run lost to a Bethesda launcher, and as soon as I left the vault found three high level characters waiting to greet and give gifts.

I also attempted to do a tour of my house using the photo mode camera and while it's a bit wonky it shows my shack and my continued commitment to rescue every ted I find.

I've started playing Fallout 76 again and this is still a world I love wandering around in, taking picture of, and building a little home in.

ULTIMATE BORG PRANK bruh had no idea 🤣 - Star Trek The Next Generation Full Episode Season 2 Episode 16. Just awful YouTube thumbnails and titles for TNG episodes? Sure!

A YouTube thumbnail for the episode Star Trek The Next Generation. Picard is at the front of the screen, sat in his chair looking suprised. Q is bnehind him with his hands on his lips in that annoying "shhh I'm doing a prank" way with a yellow arrow pointing towards him like in youtube videos. There's a Borg drone next to him as well looking at Picard, they are both behind Picards chair. YouTube thumbnails are awful. Behind them is the viewscreen of the enterprise with a Borg cube on the viewscreen.

chris slight @chrisslight.com · 22/01/2026

Hell yes! Get me in that kiln!

020

chris slight @chrisslight.com · 05/01/2026

I started making this and realised I wasn't going to finish it but "star trek episodes as god awful youtube thumbnails" really made me chuckle as a concept.

Nog holds a self sealing stem bolt with one of those pointless red arrows pointing at it. Nog also has weird, bright, human teeth. Jake Sisko is there! He's holding a coffee mug and smiling while the words "cope" are next to him. Also poor old Miles has been turned red and has had fake cartoon tears put on him while he looks in an incredible amount of pain. Behind them aer the words "WE GOT RICH!" and loads of gold press latinum.

I love the @strangescaffold.bsky.social newsletter! @christapaolucci.com has done an amazing job on this months as a recap of 2025 at the company and I'd like to share a bit from my little section. Thanks!

THANK YOU for supporting us this year. Leaving reviews, telling your friends, reposting our stuff, all help keep the lights on. Thank you! THANK YOU! There’s a bunch of people who are determined to drag all art down into the slop bog so support as many artists as you can in whatever way you can. Now more than ever as ten or so billionaires seem determined to drive us towards a bunch of shit a robot noxiously farted out. Naaaah, not for me, thanks! I like things that are interesting, novel, weird, beautiful and human. Knowing we’re not alone means the world to us.

So again I say, THANK YOU!

Cheers, thanks a lot,

- Chris @ Strange Scaffold

I'm imagining that being said by Alan Partridge like he described Bono having "the biggest bowl of alpen you've ever seen it!" AND it's made me imagine having a nice bath in some coffee. That'd be great, probably!

If you're looking for a community manager / social content / marketing person for your game then I'm very much looking for more work! And as a side note I'm nominated in the @indiegameawards.gg for Community Management for my work at @strangescaffold.bsky.social! RTs appreciated!

It's a photo of me in the country side looking happy. The frame around this photo says "The Indie Game Awards - 2025 Nominee"

More photo mode shots because I loved it!

Finished my second 140 hour playthrough of Baldurs Gate 3 last night and I honestly don't think I've cared for characters as much as I do them. What a brilliant game! I'm probably just going to start a new run today aren't I?

I was looking up the first PlayStation I got (the 1998 Value Pack) and while looking at the back of the box I saw advertised... "Disney's Action Game Featuring Disney's Hercules TM" "That can't be what it was called" I said but fuck me, it was! What a thrilling title to excite the mind of a child!

I knew staying up all night drinking "homebrew" with Volo was a bad idea. (I have no idea why BG3 looked like this for a single battle. I somehow managed to finish it and it went away with a quick Camp visit!)

Ready for another few hundred hours with my faves for play through three (minus Karlach, my true love, who we haven't met yet)

Star Trek: First Contact came out in 1996, and this moment is still one of the coolest bits of practical mixed with CGI effects shots I've seen.

Virtual Fighter matches at Combo Breaker were WILD. Fuudo and Itasbashi are just sitting down to have drinks mid-match as the crowd goes wild. I'm just saying, add Ryo from Shenmue as a DLC character, it'll be cherry.

Not actual Unity getting in on the "what if other people talked about Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 1 & 2 like they are real" idea I had. Working with @strangescaffold.bsky.social is the best.
