I got Disney Dreamlight Valley this week and… I’m so disappointed 😭 I knew what I was getting into, but it’s even worse than I thought. It looks so… cheap? Like a low budget, low quality mobile game. I’ve played it a lot over this week, looking for a reason to stay but I just can’t find it 😭

Anyone who is still buying stuff from EA should have a look at this video. Outside The Sims world, there are so many other companies that do things right, that are super passionate about what they’re doing. This may sound so dumb, but Paralives is genuinely healing something inside me. Seeing such a hardworking and passionate team of people creating such a beautiful masterpiece is truly inspiring. The current bugs in the game feel more like a human, endearing mistake rather than an annoying fault.

What I’ve seen from Paralives so far makes me so excited for its future, as I feel like there’s so many cool features that could be added at some point, seeing what’s been implemented in the game so far (I’m talking features that are so extravagant that would have to come much more in the future).

A little rant on Paralives vs The Sims: I know comparisons aren’t necessary unless it’s in a constructive way, and I wanna make it clear I understand all those people saying they want Paralives so that The Sims has some competition and evolves, but I’m not interested in what The Sims may become.

Something I keep seeing is people questioning how Paralives can sustain itself without paid DLC. EA should be happy that they have trained consumers so well that they cannot conceptualize a sustainable games studio that doesn’t extract money thru predatory monetization. To anyone who has played Pokémon SV, what’s your opinion on it? I’ve just finished the main storyline and I have to say, to me the ending makes up for most of the weaker aspects of the game! I have some strong critiques with this game but I still enjoyed it a lot and I don’t think it’s that bad? 😭

Oh boy… 😬 The Sims 4 marketplace situation gets worse. EA left out some details when recruiting creators. One bit of good news is it’s still possible for them to back out, as simandy and at least one other person have done. And the keeping it “our little secret” tactic sounds childish. Sheesh!

They contacted us in the last year about this "project". The idea sold to us creators was something like "do the same thing as you always do and earn extra money from us!". Unfortunately i can't say MANY things about it because there are contracts and i don't want to risk it for being dumb. I've decided i would be OUT of this thing as soon as november and now I read stuff I really didn't know about, all in here and from YOU, i made the last decision. There were many promises as they really do know how to target cc creators who are either greedy or financially struggling and I do admit that they caught my attention, but as the months got by and as they would ask more and more PERFECTION from us (note: i have no idea who else is at the program. They kept us all anonymous to each other by holding us accountable of "our little secret") i noticed this thing wasn't for me at all. I was REALLY just waiting for the bubble to burst or for them to announce it so I could finally be free to AT LEAST talk about it with you guys because i was SCARED of their contracts.

This is now a recommendation to all the other cc creators who were caught in their webs: get out. You can just get out. They can't force you to stay. They can't force you to disappoint your community. It's OKAY to not know better. It's okay to make poor decisions based on your needs. But you need to get out as soon as you know better, or else excuses aren't gonna make you more palatable. Just stand up and get out.

This!!! They are so naive if they don’t realise The Sims ends with 4. A lot of people played only because they pirated the game, they have lost the love of big YouTube Sims channels and now they think they’ll fool us to finance other games? Nah, I’m done. I’m so happy I’ll get to play 4-ever 😌

If this is all true, then The Sims as a franchise is most definitely dead. What do you mean The Sims 4 is done because the new buyers don’t want to spend that much money in the game? Also, it is interesting to see that only the English speaking YouTube community has stepped away from The Sims. The bigger Sims channels from Spain and France for instance are still in the EA Creator Network and doesn’t seem to care about the buyout at all. Just some food for thought…
