Chris O’Neill @chrisoneill99.bsky.social · 23/09/2026One of the oldest VHS cassettes in my dusty old collection: the 1980 Guild Home Video release of BLADE (1973), co-written (with Jeff Lieberman) and directed by Ernest Pintoff. It stars John Marley as a New York cop hunting a killer but it’s shot in a rough and ready underground filmmaking style. 030

BAD TIMING has aged like the finest of wines + the Harvey Keitel cameo ahead of the movie was incredibly poignant — he told us he just wanted to pay tribute to his dearly departed pal Nicolas Roeg. Theresa Russell remains one of the most alluring actors ever! 2115
Chris O’Neill @chrisoneill99.bsky.social · 07/06/202630 years ago the British satellite channel Bravo ran the season 'The Raw Verhoeven'. They screened TURKISH DELIGHT (1973), SOLDIER OF ORANGE (1977), SPETTERS (1980) and THE FOURTH MAN (1983). This fabulous line-up of films was my introduction to Paul Verhoeven's Dutch films (I was 14 at the time). 041
